load up the box with 4 lineman, 2 linebackers, and play with 5 DB's. play press man to man on all receivers and eliminate all "easy" hitch passes. Granted you will prob give up a long ball at some point but im willing to bet you would get tons of three and outs and turnovers. apply constant heat

You broke the league. Belicheck just retired out of fear of your "brand new" defensive formation and playstyle

Also look up the following terms and apply them to your oh so great defensive strategy

"Rub routes" "motion" "The Running Game" "Tight Ends"

Not saying your gonna pitch a shutout but I have yet to see a super agressive defense against these guys. They are so scared of their running that the LB's spy instead of ATTACKING him. You can't give average passers easy throws. I mean give up 27 points but if you get 3 turnovers you have a good shot to still win

You do realize that these guys (Newton, Wilson, & Colin) are not Tebow and can actually toss a football right?

Could you please arrange these words in a manner that makes sense?

Are you talking about teams that run the spread? Or run the ball out of the spread? Get it together man.

That's a 4-2-5 and the basic scheme is used by almost all high school and college defenses against spread teams. While you can have success in press man to man at the hs level, the rules are different in the NFL and make it more difficult for dbs. A great throwing QB can kill man to man as well.

Maybe they could teach the DE not to crash on the RB so easily on every option play

Would be far more effective

You're absolutely right, but it is incredibly difficult to get a defensive end to "stay at home" against a read opt team when he's used to squeezing on all down blocks, something he's been doing since high school.

It's a habit for defensive ends to be aggressive based on their natural read and react and squeeze down the line, toward the RB
