I forgot to add...
Mrs. geauxcats might or might not have a bun in the oven... So hiking might not be a good idea depending on the circumstances

Although I love to hike :(

Lake Ouichita near hot springs. I'm thinking you're looking for outdoor activities since you asked the OB. Rent one of the smaller houseboats and go tie up to an island.

Me and my family did a road trip to savannah, then charleston sc. Fort sumter tours are reasonable and we had a good time. We went north to ocrakoke in nc then hit the mountains on the return trip. Took our time and tried to take in alot of sights. If you like history charleston was awsome.

Just looked at some prices for those. I could fly all 3 of us first class to Cancun and stay a week in an all inclusive, and still have enough left over to buy an AR for the prices of some of the house boats.

Chanticleer Inn

1800 ft. up Lookout Mountain and across the street from Rock City. @$200 a night.

Our Favorite - Sky Harbor Bavarian Hotel

You can get the king, jacuzzi suite for $150! It's a very old hotel, but they keep it very clean.

You're welcome

I still stand by my grand isle proposal. Tell Mrs Smoke you'll buy her a shiney trinket with some of the saved money.

"Peacock bass fishing in panama."

I've done this once with a group of friends. Camping on Lake Gatun, fishing and drinking beer from sun up to sun down, best times for sure. But my wife would definitely not survive a trip like this, guys only week.

Go crabbing in Grand Isle for a couple hundred bucks on a weekend. Boil the crabs you caught that night (or buy some if your crabbing expedition turns out like most of mine.) Buy cheap shrimp the next night and boil those. Drink cheap beer the entire time. Funner than it sounds
from experience, this is awesome

The wife and I were planning to take a trip out west. Take a tent, camp each night in various places. I wanted to see Idaho/Montana. Looks like it won't happen this year. Maybe next.

Sounds like a great trip.

We are planning a trip to Wyoming and Montana in a year. Got some old friends we need to go see from when we lived there.

UPDATE: we decided to do a South Carolina, North Carolina road tour..
Including stoping in Charleston, and playing golf in myrtle Beach

I know it's not Costa Rica, but I think this will be fun as well.
Anyone have any have to stop places they would like to share?
