Ikr.

A guy gets one dumb personal foul for actually playing hard and he is all of sudden labeled as out of control.

That penalty was dumb, but he was busting his arse and I believe he did not know the play was over.

I'll take a guy like that all day. I like Copeland he was actually nice to me IRL.

No offense to Copeland, but he better find out how to do something more than smother a guy in the hole. The catch against Bama was the exception not the rule. He has a ways to go as an NFL full back.

what more do you want him to do to be an NFL-ready fullback? Neal was considered one of the best if not the best for about a decade and about 90% of what he did was block in the run game. I think JC's got that down pat, and has shown he can catch. everybody isn't Moose Johnston.

I'm sure if he were to be able to prove he can catch a ball out of the fullback position, it would do nothing but improve his draft. That being said, I'm not sure he can catch a ball coming out of the backfield.

There are still personal foul penalties to be garnered

Do you drink too much for the games? Dude can catch, and actually has a few moves after the catch. He's probably coming back just to show YOU.

He had 3 personal fouls in 4 games Florida, SC, and Alabama. All legitimately called, stupid fouls, not hard playing fouls IMO and in the one game in the stretch he did not have a PF he got called on a substitution foul (aTm)that cost us a FG.

NOLA article

That being said, I'm glad he's back and like his tough attitude, if not always his discipline on the field

I agree. We remember all the times he pancakes a linebacker but seem to forget the times he whiffs in pass protection. I love him but he still has room for improvement.

If he would have, that would have just about done it for next year. Geez, is this going to be a pattern? Our juniors (next year) playing against other teams' seniors? One year of college experience is a ton. What would have been a killer team next year has been left decimated.

You do know about half those guys already got a degree rt? Why go to college to play ball, free degre and a ticket to the nfl. Maybe just maybe some of these guys actually want to finish college. Its not unheard of

Mingo and loston cost us games with their fouls, no one rags on them. shite seemed like mingo got an offside every other game.

Well all those guys were sophomores in one of lsu's best seasons ever. Id say this will be a pattern, only cus we sell that to the kids. Kids come to lsu to go to the nfl. Im fine with that.

Heaven forbid these guys go out and try to make millions at the expense of belly aching LSU fans. Also, while I'm glad he will be on the team next year, I don't think Copeland is the difference between a 12 win season and a 7 win season.

Not that much. If you can play, you can play.
The consensus #1 NFL prospect was a Sophmore this year. Do you think one more year would help Clowney improve his NFL stock?

Well we were at the 13 yard line. In easy field goal range and possibly abl to score a TD. The penalty pushed us back to the 28 yard line and we ended up trying to fake field goal. The FG would have been 44 yards and Alleman proved all year he wasn't very good from that distance. The fake field goal would have never been atempted from that close. We would have taken the three points at a minimum and then kicked off to Bama.

So did it directly cost us the game? Hard to say, but it certainly without a doubt affected the game.

Chase Clement got a stupid penalty virtually every game.

And just think... IF he DOESN'T get the Personal Foul at the 8 yd line against Bama that KILLED a scoring drive...... WE may have beaten Bama. YUP lets hope he learned from that mistake. AND if Miles USES the rest of the offense right.

He should've gone. At the most he may improve his draft spot by 20-30 picks. Not worth the risk but definitely glad he's back. Hope it works out for him and he stays healthy

True fullbacks that aren't going to play on 3rd down aren't drafted high these days. While it is true that it is unlikely that he will be able to raise his draft status, most people here are probably overrating his draft status to begin with.

A lot of teams don't even carry a Lorenzo Neal type of player. It's a passing league now.
