Anybody else suprised that Copeland didn't declare for the draft?

I mean, it was kind of a free for all for juniors leaving for the draft this year, and it's not like a FB is going to play his way into the first round.

In my mind Copeland was sorta in the same position as Brad Wing. He plays a position that is not a high value position in the NFL and spending another year throwing your body around like FB's do, doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense if your goal is to become an NFL fullback.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the fact that we get to have him another year. I just question whether or not it does him any good in terms of helping him toward a possible pro career.

Truthfully I think Copeland screwed up by not declaring. He should have jumped.

Miles promised him a revamped offense in which he will get 15 carries per game. He will also get at least one jump pass a game.

Not really.

And I don't think he was in the same ballpark as Wing. Wing ticked me off this year. You could tell he wasn't into it, he hated school, he couldn't care less. He was waiting to declare so he could get out of school.

He was money last year. This past season, not so much.

Seems like Copeland values his time on the team very much. If he plays as well, or better, this past season, he'll do well, IMO.

I'll never forget some of the plays where Copeland blew up some poor dude while blocking and that pass play to him in the Alabama game where he ran for, I think it was 30 yards with a couple guys hanging on him, that was a thing of beauty.

Glad he stayed.

He should've gone. At the most he may improve his draft spot by 20-30 picks. Not worth the risk but definitely glad he's back. Hope it works out for him and he stays healthy

I think he likes it at LSU cause he gets the ball more than he will in the NFL

He'd be my vote for the 18 jersey. Never hear anything about him away from the field, does everything asked of him in probably one of toughest positions. I hope he becomes more vocal this next year.

Maybe he wants to finish school. Besides, in today's NFL, the fullbacks rarely exist. So he's not guaranteed a roster spot.

Yup that jersey should definitely go to a guy that picks up a personal foul every game

he may have gotten drafted slightly higher if he left this year. he may want to showcase his ability to run the ball more next year before declaring

he's a tank. glad he stayed

Expound.

He got a dumb personal foul in the Bama game, that's the only one I can think of.

I don't think he should wear 18 but he's hardly out of control as suggested.

He got one against Florida for sure. Was he involved in something against South Carolina?

IMO copeland is the next great NFL fullback ala vonta leach and lorenzo neal if he can improve his ball skills just a little bit.

No offense to Copeland, but he better find out how to do something more than smother a guy in the hole. The catch against Bama was the exception not the rule. He has a ways to go as an NFL full back.

he sure can make a hole in the defensive line for a back to slip through with ease. Bet Hill is glad he is staying for another year.

Its tough to forget the few crucial missed blocks on the blitzing LB that almost killed Mett. I think Bama and Clemson was evident. Ford didn't play much early because he couldn't pick his blocks. No doubt Les is in love with him.
