How does anyone take the sport of cycling, and the Tour de France serious anymore? I'm sure some people love the downfall of Armstrong, but pretty much every Tour de France winner recently has doped.

Contador
Landis
Armstrong

1/3 of the top finishers the past 15 years

With the constant advances in drug testing, how soon does Bradley Wiggins get indicted for doping?

Not a fan of cycling or the Tour de France prior to these revelations, but how does anyone have faith in the winners now?

I love watching it, and from a pure spectator point of view it's entertaining and the doping matters little to me because it doesn't affect me in any way. Obviously it makes the feat they accomplish a little less jaw dropping but it's fun.

It takes a special type of person to enjoy watching cycling...like someone who enjoys watching NASCAR.

Top finishers include places 1-10. It's not just the winners who dope.

What's funny is that cycling fans tend to be of a completely opposite demographic than NASCAR fans.

"Leave me in peace; everybody takes dope." -- Jacques Anquetil, first man to win five Tours de France, 1965.

Eddy Merckx, easily the greatest cyclist ever (yes, even better than Lance) failed three drug tests in his career.

There has always been doping in cycling. Anyone who thinks any successful rider is clean at any point in the race's history is deluded. I just don't care. If you want to ride your bike up the friggin' Alps, I have no problem with you oxygenating your blood.

Do you take baseball seriously? What about the NFL?

Olympic track and field?

These sports have all done a better job of immediately catching PED users than cycling recently.

It took baseball and track forever to get it right, but they now have much better drug testing programs than cycling.

I guess Baloo's point still stands.

All cyclist dope. People who follow cycling don't care. Lance didn't win because he doped. He won because of his team.

Problem is...he won too often.

Cycling has by far the most extensive testing regime of any sport in the world. It's really not even close. If other sports tested like cycling, they would be seen as dirty also. It's a self-perpetuating

Also, cycling is better suited to doping than any other sport. There are a lot of tactics involved, but at the end of the day the team and rider with the biggest watt/kg numbers is normally going to win. It's a numbers game.

I guess we shouldn't take NFL & big time college football serious either. I'm certain NFL has far more sophisticated doping than cycling ever has. They don't even test or care.

Actually cycling fans do care and don't want dopers in the sport. Most cycling fans knew a long time again LA wasn't what he seemed. Not many cycling fans/cyclist wore those yellow bracelets for a reason. It was mainstream sports fans that fell for his fairytale.

All these stories have been out there for a long time. American mainstream stick & ball media, let Cancer Jesus get away with it until recently.

Jesus Christ, you're so full of shite and delusional that I'm not sure you know it.

Let me see if I have this right. You want to single out one man in a sport where you aren't competitive without doping?
