I've seen pics online of the new bookstore interior and one pic of the exterior of the new parking garage.

I live out of state. Anybody able to post some pics of the completed exterior of the building? I'm particularly interested in shots that show the new building in relation to the Old President's House.

(If there has to be a football connection to this post, then I suppose one could think about this as it relates to where one can buy stuff on gameday or something.)

I've never been in the bookstore, but I know from that picture that it's a complete piece of shite and a waste of money that could've gone to coaching.

Should have just kept your opinion to your self then. I have actually been in the new bookstore and it is great. Nice facility and a step up from the cramped old one.

Would love to see LSU bring back the bowling alley where bookstore was.

Yes. Can't miss it. Only thing I don't really like is that the old president's house looks horrible right in front of it.

Thanks, but I included those pics when I created the original post. I can do a Google search just fine. I just wondered if anyone had any pics they've taken since it was built. There aren't any good ones of the exterior online.

I don't have any pics but it's not finished yet. They're still working on some sort of outside plaza area.

No, you included a link to the pics. Easier for everyone if you just put the pics in the thread.

This is an artist's rendering of the completed project...

...and an old link to B&N article about the project:

LSU Readies for New Barnes & Noble Superstore

quote:

The spacious new design will feature indoor and outdoor plaza seating, a cafe serving Starbucks, and a second floor which will house a computer and technology center.

Acknowledging LSU’s proud “Ole War Skule” military tradition, there are plans to suspend a Curtis P40 Flying Tiger aircraft above the atrium, and the exterior architecture will incorporate the campus’ iconic great oak trees as part of the store frontage.

The development will also provide for an additional 700 parking spaces allowing more people to visit the campus.

A plane? It seems like wasted area for something so unusable.

All of our facilities should be this nice. Crazy that this is a parking garage. Literally every single building should be held to this standard.

going back to when they redid the gym armory and the journalism building i'd have to say everything they've built has been pretty top notch. there are still old buildings on campus that look like crap, but man compared to ten years ago that number is definitely down.

huey p and middleton should be next, but i know they wont be.

I agree bbap. There are some head scratchers on campus though.
