Posters that bash on our coaching staff for not locking up the state use recruiting service rankings, so I felt I could use recruiting service rankings to back up my opinion.

While I pretty much agree with the point you're trying to make, the basis on which you're proving it with is kind of flawed. Georgia is more populated than Alabama and Louisiana combined; and while they don't quite produce the per capital talent that comes out of Louisiana or Alabama, they still pump out a ton of talent every year. With that said, the in state talent pool is simply too vast for Georgia to target all of the top prospects the same way, for instance, LSU can.
Also, with out the possibility of even being able to give scholarships to every player that is deserving, UGA has had no way of shutting down out of state schools from recruiting the state extremely hard. Ga Tech may be the only other D1 program in the state, Georgia has to recruit against Auburn, Alabama, UF, Tennessee, FSU, Clemson, and USCe enough to make it feel as though there's a lot more.
I don't feel like there's any recruiting landscape in country that is like LSU's. Despite having 4 other 1A schools in Louisiana, the Tigers don't have any in state competition for top prospects. The closest major out of state school is not within 150 miles of the state line, which also makes LSU's situation so unique.

Very nice work. I'll note that tOSU numbers were skewed for a year when Tatgate was going down.
There are also Catholic kids that are going to be lost to Notre Dame. LSU doesn't have a situation like that to deal with in Louisiana. I'm just throwing it out there because it is a somewhat unique situation since no other state in the region produces the amount of DI talent that Ohio does.

Yeah but Alabama doesn't produce that much talent to begin with. It's the main reason why Saban is always casting his lures far and wide. LSU has been just about able to rack up their skill positions the past few years just on talent in Louisiana.
Nobody really digs into Alabama too much except for may 3 or 4 recruits a year.

Missouri, Nebraska etc don't have top end talent. Infact, most of the top talent from those stats leave to go to Oklahoma/Arkansas/Texas.

We focus on Texas, Florida, Miss, and the Carolina's. Why should we shift our focus just because Saban gets 1 and sometimes 2 out of LA a year?

I get your post and its a good one. And while you are technically correct, you leave out the fact that we lose the big recruit to Bama, our nemesis, while they get #1 classes and just top it off. They are taking away from us but its helping them. If Arky or someone like that got him it would be no big deal, but give these big recruits to Bama and they hurt us big time. If we can't beat them, we get no seccg and no nc.

We've been losing skill position players to Alabama. We've been making up for it with getting players from Texas and Florida.
Since 2008, if I were to list every recruit we lost to Alabama, and replaced them with a top recruit from Texas or Florida..do you think LSU had a decent swap in talent?
