I don't understand why you would spend a ridiculous amount of time to do this. Might as well just download the flacs.

My dad has one and he definitely has some albums that are hard to get. In fact, he had a copy of an old Gregg Wright album that Gregg didn't have any copy of, no masters or anything. My dad put it on his computer and emailed it over to Gregg. My dad has a sick collection, though. Thankfully, I have taught my dad the joys of 21st century recording. He now sends me emails whenever a new DTS album is announced.

He likes to listen to them anyways, and i figure it would be a way to let him do that and save them as well. he also has some obscure or rare stuff. I would just hate to have a great box and a crappy record player. I currently have an aiwa one i got at a garage sale I found some Jerry Jeff albums on ip torr that you cant seem t o find anhywhere You can hear the pops and hisses a bit as well

When you rip does it go to track form? My old record player had this function, I never had an interest in doing it.

It really depends on the software you are using. Most decent software will try to determine "tracks," but they can be inaccurate. Also, it really only works for more song-oriented albums. It's going to struggle on some prog albums where you have continuous sound of some sort.
