The hardest game of Vasquez career.

When you think about it this game had all the ingredients to become the hardest game Vasquez had played yet.
-We were playing against a 6 wins in row Celtics
-He had to face Rondo and Bradley, and without Gordon they could both put pressure on him.
-He was not 100% physically (he had a cold)
-This was the second of a back to back game, and he played 36 min the day before.
Sure enough, all this combined affected him, and he missed a lot of shots, and had 6 TOs. Nevertheless, the way he adjusted in the second half, and started penetrating despite Bradley s defense, the fact that he kept pushing the offense, and running the floor all the way to the end, and the fact that even in a bad night and against all odds he had 15 points, 11 rebounds played 40 min and we won the game by 12 points makes me think that he may be able to overcome his limitations and become a middle of the pack starting PG in the NBA

I agree. That one layup he made over Bradley and Rondo in the 2nd or 3rd quarter was very nice. He definitely makes tough shots. Not only tough shots but big shots. He looks like he could be a knockdown shooter

I think he's already a middle of the pack PG. The question is can he be better than average.
My hope is that AD, rivers, and whichever SF we use their offensive skills become better. That way, he can hit the 10 assist mark, lower his TO to maybe 2.5 a game, and then MAYBE he will stop chuckin up some random shots.

Not really. Yeah Rondo and Bradley hounded him with their defense, but they are so limited on offense he didn't take a beating on the other end of the court. The hardest game was probably the first time they faced Philly this year, 7 pts 7 ast 5 TO. Not only did Holiday beat Vasquez on both ends of the court, but he didn't have much help because this Hornets team was in a different place back then. Everyone has picked up their game now and even guys like Henry have been making solid contributions.

I guess that WCPotW win means less since it was so easy to get.

On the plus side, it was his birthday so he had to ball out. He was smothered by pressure everytime he brought the ball up court and he dribbled his way out of it. His attack to the basket has been tremendously efficient.

In this case, I found the OP to be absolutely short-sighted. Out of every game in his career or even this season, this was the toughest? And he played poorly, so this is some excuse? I'm not buying that this was his toughest challenge. That's pure drivel.
He had a great couple of weeks, one of which included his WCPotW win. I'm glad he's doing well, and I'll be sad when he goes whether it's next week or if he retires a Pelican in 10 years.
Let's not drill too deeply into the greatest menace our little Latin leader has faced. Rather, let's say, "Boston has an above average defense." That sounds much more believable.

Well, I think it's safe to say his toughest game of his career has probably happened in this season since it is the first season where he is the full time starter. And I dont want to make excuses for him but he did have some obstacles going into this game. He played against a top 10ish PG, he played 36 minutes the night before (and played around 41 minutes in this game), our top scorer was out, and he was playing with a cold. That's a lot to overcome. I'm not willing to say this was his toughest game of his career because only Vasquez knows the answer to that. But I'm sure this game was up there.

I dunno 42, he made pretty good points as to why it was a tough game for him.
And when you start a game shooting poorly and the defense can key in on you without Gordon, I can see it as an "overcoming adversity" game.
