What are some recipes using dark rum that aren't terribly sweet

I found a dark rum that I really enjoy

I don't really care to drink it straight up even though I suppose this is a good sipping rum

Don't care for the really sweet tropical rum drinks

Rum and coke is probably even a bit too sweet

Any ideas?

Soak a piece of yellow pound cake in it and enjoy.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

Not what you are looking for, but it's not a bad idea either.

Rum and ginger ale... That is how it was drunk in Antigua and I found it very enjoyable...

Make a batch of piña coladas that taste like gasoline.

Get fricked up.

Yes. Dark rum and ginger beer with plenty of lime.

Dark and Stormies are one of my favorite drinks. Make sure to use good quality ginger beer and not regular ol ginger ale.

Another good rum drink is dry hard cider and rum. Heat on the stove and add some spices like clove and cinnamon.

Coke zero?

I've done that with spiced rum. Never dark though.

This. I've never mixed it with rum, but ginger ale isn't even close to tasting like a good ginger beer that has a bite and actually tastes like ginger.

A dark and stormy is supposed to be made with spiced rum, not just any dark rum

Technically you're only supposed to use Gosling's Spiced Rum and Ginger Beer, but I use other brands as well.
