Anyone want to share a good recipe with me? This cold weather has me in the mood for some chili. Thanks to those who participate.

Would the recipe be different than chili cooked in pot on the stove?

compare the process for a stockpot and for a crockpot, looks like you have more room for fluid expansion in a stockpot, where as you may need to choose your ingredients moisture content more carefully for the slow cooker.

Looks good, just needs some beans.

I tried 2alarm the other day for the first time at this boards recommendation. It was meh. My favorite "kit" chili is still the mccormick hot chili packet. Did I miss something with tje two alarm chili kit? I made it exactly by the recipe on the box.

Idk ...it makes the best chili I've ever eaten
I do add can red kidney beans and a can of diced tomatoes to mine.

If you need to, cut an onion and or pepper up brown with meat.

You really don't have to have beans. I used to would argue this point with you, but chili sans beans can be great. Same as gumbo without okra. It's not necessary really.

re: Crockpot Chili

Ive never added a peiece of okra to the 100s of pots of gumbos Ive made.
Never will.

I like okra fried.
Or perhaps in a good bloody mary.

I hear ya. Me neither. I have, however, had pickled okra in my bloody mary's.

A can of Rotel works well too. Maybe try half ground pork or half ground beef OP?

I use it and it's pretty good. Add a can of rotel, a can of beans and substitute beer for the water

I also use stew meat and cook it in a separate pot for about 2 hours in beef broth and a few chipotle peppers

delish

I agree, I put beans in mine because they are cheap and it stretches the chilli to a few more servings, plus the added fiber does not hurt.
