| Possible replacement for Oregon: Sumlin (Posted on 1/16/13 at 12:29 pm)
Sumlins name is heating up on the duck message boards. If they decide not to go with the OC, look for Sumlin and Petersen to get the first call. Sumlin is the fan favorite so far. ETA: Oregon's scout board is blowing up with rumors

Texas A&M can come up with some cash and why would you leave with Johnny Manziel having several more years of eligibility

Oregon > A&M They already have the talent in place to win the PAC12 and make the Natty next year. Plus Nike money, A&M would never win a bidding war with Oregon

I hate the Aggies as much as the next guy, but what do you base this on? A&M has the talent in place to win the SEC and make the Natty as well.

first, no. Just no. If you want to win, you do so in Texas. Many of Chip's best players have been Texas kids they paid for. There simply isn't enough local talent for Oregon to be a consistent winner. There's a reason they've sucked for 100+ years And also, are you still using this username? I figured you'd have headed to an alter after getting outed a while back.

Oregon is a national brand now so they can recruit top 5 classes with ease. Eugene, Oregon >>>>> College Station. Nike money. Easier to win in the PAC12 than SEC. Really it's not even close.

Isn't A&M only paying Sumlin like 2.2? Anyways, he will not leave A&M after being there for only one year.

I don't know what the backstory is, but what I said in the second post in this thread is continuing to be proven correct.

That would make a ton of sense. Both are useless.

They were a turnover away with a first-year coach and freshman QB.

Would be incredibly stupid for Sumlin to leave TAMU right now and in reality, TAMU should be the type of job nobody leaves.
