Listened to interviews from Adam Oates and George McPhee today. Got me really pumped for the season to start.

Caps really need Laich to get healthy quick. Can not afford a slow start.

PENGUINS SUCK!

Crosby's-Soft-Squash won't make it all 48 games.
The webcast last night of the Flyers practice with 16,000 fans got me pumped for some hockey! The SIXERS can't give tickets away for their games but the Flyers pack the house for a practice. We talkin about practice?

Gotta Love Philly.
At least the NHL knew where to start the season with the Flyers on NBC both Sat & Sun. And then on the NHL network Tues night!

Let's Go FLYERS!

Hell, NBC has the Pens beating the fLyers last year, which didn't even happen. But apparently the Flyers want "revenge", according to the promos.

I know how pathetic is NBC's marketing dept. The clinching Game6 was even on NBC for fricks-sake! But somehow this still made it on TV. Whatever, more motivation to beat those Pens tomorrow.

Getting out to a fast start is going to be crucial this year. Playoff hockey right from the start!

Hating the Penguins... it's what brings the Eastern Conference together. Picked to finish first? I am shocked -- SHOCKED!! -- that the Pens are the media darlings.

What ticks me off is I'm picking the Rangers. Damn, they are loaded.

You have to the Rangers are going to be damn-good. But here's to hoping Lundqvist either gets hurt or has a poopy season. The Flyers couldn't beat them last year, and the NHL schedule makers didn't give the Flyers any breaks either, since they have us playing the Ranger & Devils 5 times but only 4 games against the Pens & Isles.

Good draft last night. Auto spending 40 for Quick pissed me off though, but there was a ton of value in the later picks. Making me spend 10 for Green

I never thought I'd miss hockey this much. After the Jackets drop their first 10, I'll realize how stupid I was.

I totally forgot about this draft. My team looks very poopy and what is the deal with this bidding on players that are on waivers?

Highest bid gets the player. Season long budget of $100.

I drafted a Bruin (Marchand). I feel dirty.

Holy crap. The Caps are instituting a 1-3-1 power play. That's some balls right there, only having one D-man on the power play. One bad pass and it's off to the races the other way.

I like the aggressive mindset, especially after the era of Hunter Hockey. That is all-out attack.

Feeling good about this year. Last year I was so apathetic after bowing out to the Lightning the previous season. Also, last season our top 3 guys all bottomed out. This year they are healthy and we have Holtby in net. Good vibes man, good vibes.

I know. I feel really good about this year. Let's put it like this: everyone agrees the Bruins and Rangers are among the best teams in hockey, and the Caps essentially played them to a draw in last year's playoffs. And that's with playing Ovie for only 13 minutes a game for some bizarre reason.

Dale Hunter is one of my all-time favorite players, and I think it's good he came in to teach the team some defensive responsibility. He just took it way too far and completely stifled the team. If this team can just open up slightly and still remember to play defense, it should be pretty damn good.

And that's the big thing. Once Orlov gets healthy, the Caps have an awesome blueline corps. Put that with their best goalie since Olie, and I feel more comfortable letting the offense go. I just want to see Laich get healthy so we can reunite the CLAW line.
