Pens 4 Jets 0 final. Goals: Kunitz (20) from Crosby & Martin, Malkin (6) from Neal and Nisky, Dupuis (16) from Kunitz and Crosby, Dupuis (17) from Vokoun.

14 in a row!

2nd line of Neal-Malkin-Morrow dominated as much as any line I've seen in awhile.

Dupuis hit the post with under a minute left trying to get a hat trick.

Back to back shutouts for the Pens.

The Jackets just got completely screwed on a goal overturn. What a joke.

The Hockey News ranked Morrow as the Penguins #4 prospect last month. He's not their "top" prospect, but he was up there. Still, its a good trade for both teams -- Stars get a young puck-moving defenseman, and the Pens get a locker room guy who may get energized for one last run. I did hate the Murray deal for the Pens, mainly because trading anything for the 7th D-man in San Jose is generally a bad idea.

But the Iginla deal is a gift. I think its a favor to Iggy, which I don't have much of a problem with, as the mistake was not trading him a year ago. Take the 1st rounder and see what you get. And I think he has a lot more left in the tank than people think. He's been on a line with Jiri Hudler and Mikael Backlund all year, which kind of hurts your production.

This Penguins team is awesome. Just awesome. Anything short of a Stanley Cup title is an absolute failure at this point. Which could happen if Marc Andre Fleury remembers he's Marc Andre Fleury. But this is the best top 3 lines a team has had in the cap era.

Yeah that's why I said he isn't a "top" prospect, not that #4 in a pretty loaded organization is bad at all, but to call him a top prospect for the Pens was laughable, he's not had a good year at all either.

Morrow played real well tonight, you could see him and Neal still have their chemistry from Dallas, they dominated down low and in front of the net almost as much as Malkin.

Iginla is going to be on line 3 with Sutter and Cooke but he'll be on the top PP with Crosby and get some shifts with Crosby and Malkin both, Bylsma mixes lines in games quite often.

Hey, is that salt? Why are you rubbing it in this open wound?

I think Hog is, unsurprisingly, overrating the Penguins minor league system. Hockey's Future ranks the Penguins as the #12 system going into this year (LINK ) which seems about right. It's a good system, but its actually pretty heavy on D-men, which is why they dealt one. Deal from strength. But they didn't give the Stars some magic beans.

That's what they gave Calgary.

Ducks beat the Blackhawks 2-1 in Chicago. Anaheim is now 3-0 against Chicago this season. 2-0 on the road.

Man, I've lived in NYC so long I can tell you how this "rent-a-championship" thing works out:

1) perfectly good championship contending team gets 1-3 big names at or near the deadline.
2) the guys that are displaced are under rated and actually help the big stars be successful
3) new stars are unwilling to play those roles
4) see any NY team the moment they become decent. The giants don't coins because they didn't fall into this trap.
