I would like to throw out a FPS campaign many overlooked and can be had for cheap.

Singularity

It was pretty decent. It had the coolest sniper of any game I have ever played. You can control the bullet mid air

LINK

It's funny though because apparently the gun shoots the whole casing and not just the led tip of the bullet

My only complaint is that the campaign was too short though it did offer 3 different endings.

What about Mass Effect?

That's what I was tinking as well. Not sure if it qualifies as a FPS for the OP, but they are solid games regardless.

I also thought that was a very enjoyable and underrated game. But if his computer can run it I'd definitely check out Metro 2033. And Crysis 1/2.

I haven't played that game. I may check it out.I really like the feel of a FPS over a third person shooter.

I admit I struggled with that a bit when I started playing the first one. Also there isn't non stop shooting action due to having other tasks. However, the various weapons combined with bionic abilities (enemy levitation, throwing, etc) make the game a lot of fun. You also get to highly customize your weapons and the gear of your two man/woman/alien squad.

Strictly FPS? Half-Life, Crysis, and Halo to me have the best single player story modes. The previously mentioned Mass Effect, Bioshock and Deus Ex games are also very good, but because of the RPG elements, they're not shooters

Are there any games made to be strictly FPS campaigns anymore?

RAGE came the closest. They had to throw in multiplayer so they put in a car driving multiplayer
