| Iron Fencing (Posted on 1/16/13 at 6:42 am)
No PVC, aluminum, or wooden fencing allowed by my HOA. Need to fence roughly 50% of 1/2 acre lot (FML). Anybody got a ballpark for me standard black iron fencing?

I did a pine fence, myself, and it cost $9.38/ft. An iron fence is going to cost a hell of alot more. I also have 1/2 acre.

What was end $ if you don't mind. I back up to a farm not part of my HOA, was thinking about asking farm owners if I put iron on the sides up to end of my property line, and then pay for and maintain the wood fence technically on his property line if he'd be cool with it. Of course if he decided to tear it down I'd have no recourse

I actually already had the back of the property fenced. All 8 lots on that side of the neighborhood already got a 8' fence paid through HOA. We did a 6' shadowbox and the toal linear ft was 216'. Cost total for everything (cement, post hole digger rental, nails, stringers, pickets, hinges, etc) was $2080. So I guess we actually were at $9.63/ft and not $9.38.
