I used to work with the Queen of the Negatigers. She had her cube all decked out with LSU colors and trinkets, her car was covered with LSU stickers and flags, and she always wore Toonces gear to work. Well, the day of the CWS final in 2009 I walk into the office and ask her how the Tigers will fare in that night's game and her response was: "Ah, they're gonna lose." That was pretty much her standard answer when you asked her anything LSU sports related.

I think this is why I have a hard time enjoying the ugly wins b/c I know a loss is coming if Miles won't correct the issues. I think that's a big difference in philosophy. Saban admitted his team played bad at LSU this year and there was an issue even though they got lucky and won. Miles is the type of coach that simply celebrates any win and acts like nothing is wrong because the end result (winning) was achieved. The LSU offensive issues were glaring late in the 2011 season but the defense and TM7 masked the problem. Miles never did anything to make it better and as a result they got smashed on 1/9.

I know most teams have ugly wins every year but Miles attitude seems to be that everything is fine even if you didn't play well. He was thrilled to barely beat Ole Miss this year and went off on the crazy rant.

Yes + idiot.

No. You're a realist. You support a program that doesn't quite live up to their capabilities. Mainly, because we are taken into battle by a coach that plays with matches during the biggest moments of the biggest games. Everyone outside of the program sees it the same. Solid coach, but not elite. I heard it here prior to the chick fil a bowl. Local/national sports media- "LSU is the better team, but, they've got Miles. Maybe he won't out hat himself like he did against Bama". We keep inferiors too close and let them hang around for uncomfortable wins. We have questionable calls in the biggest stage that backfire. It's okay, though. We'll get a contrived post game press conference that makes us forget all about it and look forward to the future.
