How was it falling before his combine? After today, it's climbing. Clearly the#2 CB after today. Should be gone before 15, but if he falls I like him

just one Combine review-
Although Rhodes impressed by running very fast (In the 4.4’s according to scouts I spoke with) for such a tall cornerback, he did not work-out well today. He was choppy in his movements and struggled turning/changing directions. His workout made it look like he will struggle playing in “off” coverage at the next level. In addition, he showed terrible hands during the workout, which could well be the reason he is playing cornerback and not receiver. Additionally, his interviews were not overly impressive. - See more at: LINK

Walter shakes it up after the Combine-

New Orleans Saints: Barkevious Mingo, DE/OLB, LSU
The Saints fired Steve Spagnuolo and announced that they are moving to a 3-4 defense. A new scheme doesn't mean they'll be able to fix their old problems, however. They still need to find a top pass-rusher to make things easier for an overmatched secondary. Barkevious Mingo makes a ton of sense here as one of the top prospects available.

*** OTHER 2013 NFL DRAFT POSSIBILITIES: ***

1. Damontre Moore or Jarvis Jones, DE/OLB - More pass-rushing options for the Saints' new 3-4.

2. Star Lotulelei, NT - Brodrick Bunkley is currently slated to be the team's nose tackle. New Orleans may not view him as a viable option for the position. If that's the case, Star Lotulelei will be considered if he checks out medically.

Pick change; previously Dion Jordan, DE/OLB

(passing on Jarvis Jones, Jordan at #2, Ansah #6)

New Orleans Saints: Brandon Williams, NT, Missouri Southern
Another piece for New Orleans' new 3-4. The Saints could use a long-term solution at nose tackle behind Brodrick Bunkley.

-this is truly one of the best need/value hits at #75 I see

New Orleans Saints: A.J. Klein, ILB, Iowa State
The Saints don't have any sort of depth at inside linebacker in their new 3-4 defense, so they'll have to fix that problem.

Pick change; previously B.W. Webb, CB

frick, I wasn't big on Jordan at first but now I really want him and it looks like it's an outside shot the Saints will even have the opportunity to pick him.

I was down on Jordan, but he is definitely a great athlete who impressed me at the combine. Don't think there is any chance of him being around for Saints now. I'm fine with the group of guys the Saints will have to pick from. Vaccaro, Lane Johnson, Star Lotulelei, Jarvis Jones, Mingo. They should be able to get one of those guys.

If they get any combination of Mingo/Jones in first, Brandon Williams in third, or Star in first, any one of the 3-4 OLB's on the board in the third, that's good with me.

After thed combine last week, I would bet no fricking way Jordan is available by the time we draft.

Would also say that Demontre Moore nor Manti Teo helped themselves in the combine.

Moore prolly more stock devaluation post Combine than any other player. He went from being on most all Top 10 picks list to later 1st Rd at minimum. He graded as too small for 4-3DE and too slow for OLB.

draft daddy, a pretty respected mocker update-

Mingo #2
Jordan #3
Ansah #5
Jarvis Jones #9
3 CBs before #15

the good news...

New Orleans Saints - DT Star Lotulelei, Utah

Saints are shifting to a 3-4 and Star's medical situation could drop him a few slots.

---just like Jarvis Jones, the possible medical red flag could put him in the Saints sweet spot. A Top 5er at 15!

I would go nuts.

Especially if he doesn't have congestive heart failure in 3 years.

nfls future

Jordsan #2
Ansah #8
passing on
Moore #17
Mingo #18
Jones #19

15. New Orleans Saints – Xavier Rhodes, CB, Florida St.
Saints fans could be scratching their heads on this one with Damontre Moore sitting there for the taking. The secondary is a major sore spot. Rhodes is huge and will continue to rise up draft boards. Big corners are en vogue in today’s NFL and Rhodes is the prototype.

----------------------
I think all whodats should be prepared for this possibility. Not my first choice but I could see it. Getting some veteran 34OLB would also make this all the more likely.

If it is Rhodes; this is RR pick. he got a good look at P. Rob against Dez last year and probably said "Thanks but no thanks." Seeing he values a good cover corner that is big and physical. Really see him going after Spencer if not resigned.

Really see him going after Victor Butler as someone he knows all about and that could be affordable.

I'm still very much of the mindset that pass rusher SHOULD always trump a cb. Especially with the wider open offenses. Can't cover everyone, but you can kill the head.

as said, not my first choice either

I can see a pass on Damontre Moore possibly. But Jones, Mingo, Jordan, prolly even Ansah are preferable to me.
