I hear that correctly? Is it true for college as well?

I hope so. I have hated that move forever. I have never seen it work and played baseball through college.

I'll just assume you mean you've hardly seen it work.

I picked a guy off at 3rd in Highschool with that move cuz he figured I was going to sleepwalk through it and immediately look to first no matter what.

His manager ripped his arse it was pretty funny. Picking a guy off at 3rd is pretty damn rare by the pitcher.

I'd argue it's more likely for the catcher to achieve it IMO.

To say you have never seen it work probably means you didn't play through college like you say you did. Ill trust that you are telling the truth about that so you have to have seen it as some point work.

You've never seen it work because pitchers are "too cool" to put good effort into it. A good first to third move can accomplish two things. One, if good enough it might steal an out. But most commonly, a good first to third move can create hesitation in the base runner. If you've ever seen a runner caught stealing in a first and thrid situation, perhaps the runner from first got a late break because he was making sure that the pitcher went home.

I've seen a good 3rd to 1st move be successful many times. It's just that my view of successful may be different than yours.

It's an MLB rule change, and I think it still has to be approved by the Player's Union.

Is that vote a formality?

The article I read made it sound like it.

i dont think you can make this rule chance without also outlawing an inside move to 2b without a throw

He's a spineless boob.

People bitch and moan about the third to first move for no reason, so he allows for it to be outlawed.

There's no reason for this.

The game is slow enough as it is. I have no problem with this rule.

This move happens maybe twice a night throughout baseball and adds literally 30 seconds to the game.

I'm against change in baseball for the most part, a purist.

Not if a pitcher puts good effort into creating a good move
