Seems like a lot of minor league promotions

“We still give out free tickets, but mainly strategically, to those who help other people … There’s a dramatic difference between the way business had been done and the way we’re doing it now, and one aspect of that is a lot fewer free tickets.”

I feel like a dollar is a waste of money to attend a Bobcats game. Buying an oatmeal pie would be a much better investment.

I wish I lived in a city with a crappy team. I can't even get tickets under $50 vs teams like the Bobcats or Wizards.

$1 is still too much to make me want to go to a bucks, pistons, or bobcats game.

How about fixing this problem by actually enforcing the rules

2 or more steps without dribbling is a travel would be a good place to start.

hard to get itnerested in a sport that is fixated on super teams and fouls that only benefit the star players. The NBA has no parity in it. It's the same teams over and over and over again.

Tix in Chicago are not $1.

you sound lazy

you can always find reasonably priced tickets in decent enough seats if you make any effort at all.

Yeah, because calling travels is what the fans come to see!

There enforced the way they're supposed to be enforced. You're allowed to take a step while gathering control of the ball from your dribble. Once control is established you get two steps. Since it's already a liberal rule, it's rarely broken. Though sometimes the refs make mistakes, but for the most part it's called correctly. And honestly, I'd rather a ref forgive a travel call than to blow the whistle on non-travels.

Something tells me that stricter enforcement of the traveling rule would not influence ticket sales. . . but I could be wrong.

let me guess- you long for the good ole days of magic/bird/Jordan when the NBA didn't suck, right? Back when Jordan got every fricking call. Back when either the celtics or lakers (or both) made the finals 11 out of a 13 year stretch. Back when they had god awful teams winning only 15 games a season.

Little has changed in the NBA over the years. Stars got the calls back then, there were some terrible teams, and the same teams always won. The biggest change is the name on the back of the jerseys.

The real problem for these teams are the shitbag product they put on the court. Impossible to get excited about a piston v buck game.

also, since when has any sport ever packed in the fans for the very worst teams in their league?

bad teams always have bad attendance.

Why should I support teams like the Kings and the Bucks? Suppose they get a good player. In two years he'll just wind up in New York, Los Angeles, or Miami when they can't afford him anymore. And even if you are Orlando or OKC and you are prematurely good, it still won't matter because you'll still lose your star player before you win a title.

I almost never walk away after watching a NFL game complaining about a lack of effort. I complain after almost every single NBA game I watch.

Shorter season + Fewer teams + Best of 5 playoff series = Better product.
