What would you buy?
Thinking of starting to plan for next year.
Would like to get a Browning X Bolt White Gold .270 WSM with a Nikon Monarch Scope 4x16x50

I own and use that scope. Never shot an x-bolt. That scope is great. I'm sure you could spend a grand on a better one, but for a midrange scope it's hard to beat imo.

I shoot a 300 WSM Xbolt. I love mine. I have the synthetic stock though, not the white gold.
My glass is a 4x16-50 Swarovoski z3
I love my setup and it has never let me down. Far better shooting than other out of the box setups that I have shot.

With that budget I would get at least some Zeiss glass on top of your browning. I have a 7 mag browning medallion with a 3x9x50 Zeiss conquest. I think I paid 900 for the gun and 5-600 for the scope.
Whatever scope you get do yourself a favor and get a 50mm lens!

i have a 270 wsm and like it, but it seems like finding ammo has been tough the last year or so. academy occasionally carries one type, but i don't see it often. bass pro usually has a couple of options.

Weatherby Mark V (Jap made model) in .270 WBY Mag with a Zeiss Conquest or Leupold VX III in 3.5X10X50

I have a Thompson Icon 7mm with Nikon 4.5-14x40. Could go with 50mm oblective, I just don't like having to hold my head a little higher to look through scope

Love my xbolt medallion in .280 Remington and Leupold VXIII 3.5x10x40

Weatherby Mark V in .257 wby mag. If just for deer. One of the best calibers you can get, very fast and flat. Zeiss scope.

hell yes. perhaps the Sendero model topped with either a VX3 leupold or a Nikon Monarch
then drop next year's $2k allotment on a serious piece of glass. something german. and awesome.

Wow, some other people on the OB that shoot a rifle other than a remington 700. I have a A-bolt medallion in .270. The white gold model looks awesome.
