Anyone else see the exploding fireball (late december)?

I was hunting with three friends and we all saw what looked like a fireball streak across the sky for a few seconds and then explode into about 5-8 fragments that streaked and burned out similar to shooting stars.
I guess it happened around 5 AM, can't remember what day exactly though.

Maybe that was like the fuse, and it wasn't strong enough or something.

I've been off the grid, but just had to return to the real world for spring semester of grad school.
What I'm talking about happened before the big shower that some of you are alluding to.
If you saw it, there would be no question as to what I'm talking about. It was just like a big fireball was shooting through the sky, exploded, and broke into several smaller fireballs
ETA: I was in Carlyss setting out decoys
Thinking hard, I think it was the Friday/Saturday before Christmas.
