Who will be the Friday guy?
Who is the closer?
Is there a potential surprise starter?
Bullpen depth issues or concerns?

Your response in this thread is almost as shitty as your own thread about Shaq playing QB.

Isn't he a little old to be our Friday guy?

Nola or Eades

Wide open for now but I think Rumbelow might get first crack at it.

I'd like to see McCune redeem himself with either another starting position, or the closer.

Heard Nola would be the Friday starter and Eades on Saturday. Apparently Nola was unhittable in the fall purple and gold series

Have pitchers pitch in practice to find out who looks good, and then try a couple of guys out in February?

CPM was on 104.5 Friday & he said that Nola & Eades will be the Fri/Sat starters but would not assign either one to a set day just yet. He said that Sunday's starter would be determined after/when the closer is chosen, as several candidates are vying for both positions. He gave a list of possible closers but gave the impression he was nowhere near ready to make a decision. Cotton was mentioned for both/either positions as one name he threw out there. Raph & Katz were on as well & both emphasized that this will be the fastest & most athletic outfield either has seen in their 4 yrs.

The K girls are excited about the pitching staff.

You should check some of the other baseball threads, but since you asked...

Friday starter - Nola - people may say it's between him and Eades, but after listening to Mainieri the other night, I think it's safe to say its Nola.

A surprise starter could come on Sunday. No one is penciled in, but look for Bonvillan and McCune to get first cracks.

IMO this is the deepest LSU bullpen I can remember since I've been a fan.

Closer - Rumbelow will probably get 1st crack, but I eventually think someone else goes into that role.

Friday - Nola
Saturday - Eades
Sunday - will not matter because we will have won the series by now.
Lineup - better hitting for power and more lefties.
Losses - Nola and Hanover at third and short will hurt in the field, but should be upgraded at the plate.

Thats all I got.

This is what I heard him talk about on Tiger Rag radio interview:

C Ross
1B Katz
2B Jones
SS Bregman
3B Ibarra
LF Rhymes
CF Sciambra
RF up for grabs, Fr Laird impressive fall but lots of competition during practice and non conference will settle it (also Edwards, McMullen and Stevenson)
DH several candidtes Tyler Moore

Pitching
Nola Eades 1/2
3 up in the air, again practice and non conference will determine
Looking at Bonvillain, McCune, Reynolds had a nice fall, Rumbelow will get a look as starter for Sun as well, Glenn
In the pen - mentioned Cotton (who he really thinks will end up as closer but not ready to commit), LaMarche, Bourgeois, Berry.
That was the main players he mentioned.
Broussard out for year injury but that was known over summer

I'd love to see a freshman like Reynolds or Sewald step up and take the Sunday job

As mentioned already, Nola/Eades for Fri/Sat.

Cotton in mix for Sun/Closer.

I've heard that earlier in the year LaMarche had a legit shot at closer. Not sure how true that is now.

It may be one of the fastest OF's at LSU ever. Sciambra, Stevenson, and Laird can all fly!
