Ladgon just hit the proverbial nail on the head. He can't evaulate QB talent for shite and can't develope it. What is most troubling for me is the offensive line problems.

Option 2.

It's hard to be excited like I was 4-5 years ago because of the way things have steadily declined sinced 1/9/12. Great spring game performances won't cut it either. It's past time to make changes, but CLM is just too set in his ways.

He treats coaching changes like he treats halftime adjustments. Always a day late and a dollar short. The same thing happened with the duo-DC's a few years ago. Now it seems he won't make the OC change because he wants to prove that he can do sh*t his way.

True we have continued to pull in talent, but if this isn't straightened out this year, that will stop. If we have another year of offensive mediocrity, then all hell is going to break loose.

The fact that CLM isn't help accountable for putting an offensive together like this only makes him think he is doing it the right way.

I hope damn well he proves us realists wrong and starts allowing playmakers to make plays. Time to move into the damn 21st century of plays and playcalling CLM.

If the question "What is your enthusiasm level for 2013 LSU football" is the same question as "What are your expectations of success for 2013 LSU football" then you are by definition a bandwagon fan.

Indifference. I don't expect a single change to be made. No sense in getting worked up over it. Sports have less and less effect on my mood every passing year anyway. I hardly cared about the CFa bowl when it ended

1.

Miles has a formula that will win him 9-10 games a year and have him "in the hunt" for the sec title. Don't expect him to actually compete for or win said tiltes unless we sign another playmaker like Tyrann Mathieu. Sadly this seems to be acceptable to the Admininstration and most of the fan base.

And this attitude, in a nutshell, is what's wrong with our fanbase. Like the poster acknowledges, the program is on solid ground (win 9-10 games a year), and simply requires 1 or 2 special players to win titles. That is the very definition of "a great program".
If you're disappointed in THAT, you're destined to always be disappointed.

BTW, my answer is 1- I enthusiastically look forward to next year.

The definition of a great program is not hoping your defense can hold a team down for as long as possible while praying that your kick returner will get hot so you can actually score. Everyone talks about 1/9 but rarely points out the georgia game where we didn't pick up a first down in the first half. Luckily I saw the writing on the wall before 1/9 and cashed in my tickets on stubhub for a couple grand.

And to answer the OP's original question....2.

I am as big a LSU Fan is there is out there. But if a change isn't made in offensive coaching I think you have to tone down expectations. I was pumped for 2012 LSU supposedly finally had a QB and he didn't even sniff 250 yards passing until the Bama game. So if there are no changes I would go in to 2013 expecting 9-10 wins and a mid level bowl. YAY!!!!

Les blames the player's execution.

He doesn't see a problem with the staff.

The sunshine pumpers agree with that, too.

All the 4 star QB's we have, and they are all incompetent and talentless. We either are shitty at coaching offense and offensive players, or we are awful at evaluating talent.

I think the NFL draft confirms it isn't the latter.

We had more than 2 special players on the 2012 squad.

We had as many or more special players than Bama.

He does this way too often. Whose job is it to prepare the team and make sure execution doesn't ruin games?

That lack of execution game after game along with the amount of pentalies are two things just exposes bad coaching.

When our offense is on the field I'm thinking, "how many times did we run this play in practice this past week?" It seems like we practice 600 plays one time each. That will lead to this lack of execution.

CLM is calling Tecmo Bowl plays while playing Madden 13.

As a supporter of the University and its Athletic Department it frustrates me that that the Football Program is not maximizing its potential. I don't think we are right now and if Miles refuses to make the necessary changes it tells me he is comfortable with the way things are right now. If that makes me a bad fan than so be it. Unfortunately I don't see us or anyone for that matter signing a Tyrann Mathieu type playmaker anytime soon. He is once in a generation type player.

JJ was really bringing it in that game, wasn't he? And Les thought his offense was JUST fine.

re: If Les makes NO offensive coaching changes, what will your reaction be?

Let's be completely candid here- Nick fricking Saban is the best coach in college ball right now. He brought LSU to a title, and then he left. Now he has Alabama at the point where they're a a modern dynasty. Only a few teams are even able to challenge them, and for the most part those teams come and go.

LSU is one of the few constant challengers. We are there every year, and Les has won his share of those matchups. Miles has kept the physical talent here to play Alabama straight up like we did this year. As long as he's here, we should maintain that talent. If Saban wants to break free, LSU has to decline. The best way to do so is to get rid of Miles, and the best way to do that is to negatively recruit so the talent declines. The funny thing is, a lot of our supposed fanbase is doing the negative recruiting for Saban. People around here (internet and in real life) disparage the guy like he's dropped us below Tulane, instead of treating him like he's the winningest coach in our history with 1 BCS title under his belt and another title game appearance.

If you want to be a Bama fan, go be one and get rid of your purple and gold gear. Me, I'll be hopeful and enthusiastic about each upcoming season for LSU.

Regarding the offensive coordinator- Miles brought Kragthorpe in to change things. He got sick, and Stud was forced into emergency duty in '11. That team went 13-0 in the regular season. Find me one person anywhere who says that doesn't buy you a second year, or the coordinator on the outside who would want to risk his career by taking a job where that 13-0 regular season wasn't "good enough" for the last guy.

Stud got his year. We'll see what happens now.

I am no longer emotionally or financially invested in LSU at this point. It is a hard product to watch from my perspective. The lackluster offensive production coupled with the complete denial about it has really soured my zeal for LSU Football. Since accountability seems to be removed from the LSU program....my dollars are as well.

Sadly, Miles cannot communicate effectively with the fan base and so we are always left wondering if he is an idiot or not. His record is amazing, but the team wins games ugly too many times and inferior teams stick around b/c we do not have the offense to put the game out of reach.

Add the Ridiculous contract extension that Miles extorted out of the administration and I am quite displeased.

I would have handed Miles a road map with the quickest way to Fayetteville highlighted on it...and told him good luck. Two can play that game. I guarantee Miles would have stayed...it beats getting fired in Arkansas in 3 years.

There will be a change. Les will bring in some extra "want".

This was worthy of a repost. Couldn't have been said any better.
