no...and he's way more expensive

unless we're talking about flexing and staring down an opponent...then he's a GIANT improvement

I think most saints fans exposure to his NFL career was the game where he got schooled on a pump n go but he is the complete package and he was much improved playin for Rex ryan

he's a dual kind of player that i think did some time at SS but i'm 95% positive he was a FS at Jets. Blues owes me an apology.

Yeah, he played FS but I'm stating my opinion- he's a strong safety as a player. In fact I think Harper would be a better FS than he is- and that's scary to think of.

Prolly looking for the highest bidder per rotoworld-

ESPN New York considers free agent SS LaRon Landry "highly unlikely" to re-sign with the Jets.
Landry played a surprisingly high 96 percent of the defensive snaps. A clause in his one-year contract prevents the Jets from franchise tagging him, and he's already made it clear he won't accept a hometown discount. Beat writer Rich Cimini believes the Jets simply "won't be able to afford him." Landry is going to be seeking big money on a long-term deal at age 28.
LaRon Landry told the New York Daily News that he will not take a hometown discount this offseason to re-sign with the Jets.
The Jets took a flier on Landry when few wanted him in 2012 free agency. He's 28 years old and won't be repaying Jets management for giving him the shot. "What do you mean (by) a discount?" Landry said. "Take less over what? From where? ... I’m going to sit down with my agent and family and make the best business decision."

I strongly disagree with this by quite a bit. Harper can't make plays in space, landry can.

This wasn't necessarily a should we thread just a tough question on if Laron's a better player than Malcom. I'm more curious in just that question more than beating a drum to sign Laron.

after the past two years I'd go yes on that one even not being a Landry fan.

I'm resigned to Jenkins back more cuz of the cap situation than anything else. Sticking by their history of the best performer playing though IAQ could win the job straight out next year. Jenkins looks more like a good versatile backup at this point to me.

He would be like another Roman Harper back there. Which at this point might be an upgrade over Jenkins.

Landry has way more speed than Roman. I get why you saying that but that's not completely fair to Laron.

Bring in Ed Reed and Laron, move malcolm to CB. Helps make things workable.

A downgrade IMO. He is a harder hitter but that is about it. He is slower and makes more mistakes in coverage.

Landry can cover but he's anxious to make the big hit so he bites on PA alot. Wasn't an issue for him this year

Fwiw, the Patriots torched him twice in a single game.

Jenkins just needs to move to corner.. He is a dynamic playmaker he just sucks at playing safety IMO.
