Speaking of stamina, I remember losing a shitload of money by betting against Nadal in a slam final (I bet on fed, and pretty sure it was the Aussie final) because 1) he played his semi a day later and 2) it was an exhausting 5 setter against verdasco, I believe. I was like no way this guy will be fit, then he beat Fed in another 5 set match

That was the 2009 Aussie Final. Great match. It was at that point that there could no longer be any doubt that Nadal did, always would, have Federer's number.

i dont know if PEDs make one arm a lot stronger than the other, but rafa definitely has 2 different sized arms it's rather distracting after you notice it. but for someone so young, his body seems to be (relatively) falling apart lately.

1. Every tennis player's forehand/serve arm is substantially larger than their other arm.

2. His body is falling apart, but people saw this coming years ago. You can't draw up a style of play that would be harder on the knees than Nadal's style of play. And, yes, he is relatively young (26), but he was a prodigy and so the mileage on his knees started well before it does with most other players. Rafa beat Federer when he was 17 years old.

Some people think that Rafa is currently serving a secret suspension for failing a drug test. I hope it's not true but there are certain things which seem to give it validity. Rafa hasn't played a competitive match in over six months due to supposed knee problems yet he hasn't undergone any surgeries or operations to fix those issues. It's also suspicious how he bowed out of the Australian Open two weeks before the tournament started due to a "stomach virus". I'm no medical professional but I've never heard of a stomach virus that takes two weeks to recover from. There's something weird going on.

I just think he's waiting until clay court season to start playing again. I mean, that's definitely what he is doing. His first tournament will be a 250 event in Chile at the beginning of February. Then another 250 event a week later in Brazil, then a 500 level event in Mexico. All are on clay.

I've heard chatter about a secret suspension, but I'm not sure if I believe it.

wow, didnt realize he'd been around almost 10 years now. i only recently started getting into tennis, i picked it up when joker was still a headcase. he's been my favorite since i started watching. his mental game has grown leaps and bounds since i started following. almost as much as his fitness has grown

so how long are suspensions for this in tennis? would the timeline match up with his absence?

Rafa is my favorite player, but I like Djoker mostly because I'm in awe of his game. He has no weaknesses.

I'm not sure that the ATP has firm guidelines. Petr Korda tested positive for steroids in 1998, and I think he got out of receiving any suspension time because he argued that he didn't knowingly take it. Or something like that.

Wayne Odesnik received a two year ban that was reduced to a one year ban, but his case is a bit different in that he got caught importing HGH into Australia.

Nole at his best is literally the best tennis player I have ever seen. I'm 33.

This match is 28 minutes in, and it's already over.

I'm calling it a night.
