What distance should I sight my CT laser at?

Purchased a crimson trace for my carry pistol
25 ft? 40ft?
Also, if you get a CT laser for a shield, modification with a file is required. horseshite for that much $$

It probably depends on your house setup etc. my house is wide open so a 25-30 shot is very possible.

The difference of 10ft and 20ft won't be anything. 45ft will, what caliber?

You won't see much drop at 45 feet, maybe 1.5" hardly noticeable.

5 to 7 meters would be my rule of thumb, depending on the expected engagement ranges. In any event, it is difficult to go wrong with 5 to 7 meters for a handgun - a significantly greater amount of experience is required to comfortably engage targets with a handgun beyond, say 8 meters, and that begins to imply your are outdoors or in a large public building, rather than a residential or small commercial structure - and that is a completely different tactical environment.
