Planning a Trip to Edinburgh, Scotland in August for 3 Weeks...

Has anyone ever been? If so what are some things that we should do and see while in Scotland?

I am sent to Prestwick Scotland once every other year. I always drink a lot when I am over there. I have never had the chance to get out and explore much.

Even if you do not play gold, a trip to St. Andrews to visit the town and the golf course should be in your plans. Edinburgh Castle is a must see also.

Was there for a week with the family a few years ago. Recommend getting a train pass and take day trips to Glasgow, Sterling, Inverness. One of our favorite trips was to Dunbar.

People were great and we had more fun going into the nontourist areas.

Loch Ness. The highlands. Take in the scenery.

If you're there for three weeks, try to take side trips to Wales, Ireland or England.

Edinburgh has lots of shops, pubs and restaurants. Just hanging out in the town is fun. A lot of old architecture. Check out the castle as mentioned.
