We are not taking 29.

The coaches have said 27. Still need 1 more guy to leave ithink.

But dont kid yourself, les is running this prigram to the ground, they had no idea players were leaving and didnt recruit accordingly. We will suck fir several years because a bunch if 4th year players went to the draft.

Not sure how this is being calculated.

83 on Scholarship to begin

losing Mathieu and Hurst = 81

lose 9 Scholarship Srs. = 72

lose 10 3 yr+ players to NFL Draft = 62 ETA (6 redshirted jrs., 3 true jrs., and 1 redshirt sophmore)

lose 3 (Davenport, Turner and Jacobs) so far to attrition = 59

24 commitments and 2 from last yr. (Avery and Hoko) = 85

Additional attrition needed per additional signee.

Les is running the program into the ground? ARE KIDDING ME????

Vegas odds makers have LSU listed tied for third, with Ohio State, to win the national championship next year, behind Alabama and Oregon. In addition, Les is likely going to pull in a top-five recruiting class for 2013. Plus we'll be sending 10 or more players into the NFL draft, with possibly three or four in the first round.
Some people on this board are smoking crack or are coaches from other schools trying to influence our recruits.

Some of our "fans" will do anything to drag the program down, primarily due to their hatred for Miles. It's really pitiful when you think about it.

I don't think the program is in the toilet, but it is headed in a bad direction. Les has lost in the recent years bowls that he either should have won (Penn State, Clemson) or should have at lest been competitive in (2012 NCG). To say there isn't a bad trend is to stick your head in the sand. Now its true the QB situation has caused us hugh problems during this time, but Les should have managed the situation better (esp. the 2011 year). The problem is correctable. I feel Les is a decent coach, a good recruiter, and instills charater in the players. I can only hope Les is willing to make the changes he needs to make the program stronger.

Judging a body of work based only on the recent bowl games is a bit of an overreaction, but to each their own. LSU is closer to being a dynasty than they are to being a program on the decline.

But its still a trend. Les had MUCH better bowl game showings in the past.

I was starting from the 62 returning scholarship players number.

+ 29 in coming (4 counting back) = 91

91 - 85 = 6

For some reason I thought it was 9. My bad. We need to process 6.

2 QB (Mett and Rivers)
4 RB (Blue, Hilliard, Hill and Magee)
1 FB (Copeland)
7 WR (ODB, Landry, Wright, Boone, Dural, Fobbs and Williams)
2 TE (Gordon and Dickson)
9 OL (Hawkings, Collins, Porter, Turner, Alexander, Williford, Edinburgh, Washington and Austin)
4 DT (Freak, Ego, Q. Thomas, and Johnson)
4 DE (Hunter, Rasco, Maclin and Allen)
10 LB (Kwon, Debo, Louis, Phillips, Feist, Barrow, T. Jones, Granier, Rockey and Welter)
5 S (Loston, Thompson, Martin, Eugene and Sandolph)
5 CB (Mills, Collins, D. Thomas, Raymond and Holmes)
3 Specialists (Keehn, Hairston and Ferguson)

= 56

Gone:
Davenport
Jacobs
Turner

Rumored to be leaving:
J. Randall
Muncie

Doesn't count against the 85:
Bolden ETA maybe counts in 2013 if he stays which is rumored not likely.

56 + 24 + 2 = 82

Room for 3 more without further attrition?
