8 is a lot and the only ones in danger of not being drafted, barring horrific work outs or someone being busted with 8 tons of weed are Ford and maybe Faulk.

If by some miracle all 10 get drafted (if it's more than 8 I'll be surprised) then yeah it would be a good sell.

Don't forget the 3 players (Brockers, Randle and Claiborne) already drafted from the same class of 2009.

I personally think many of the guys leaving didn't play to their full potential this season because they already made up their mind to enter the draft before the season started, except Minter and Logan. Those two played their way into the draft and should go after such stellar years.

This is what I agree with. Some of those that are leaving early clearly did not play up to their potentual, because they did not want to put themselves at risk. Like Sam Montgumery, did not play to the level he had set in previous years and I believe it was because, of not wanting to risk getting hurt, his mind was already made up and his stock took a big hit. I wish them all the best, the more that go to the NFL helps recruiting, unless of course, they leave for a different reason.

What some of them do not realize is, if they do not play at Game speed, it puts them more so at risk than if they had just said to themselves,"to heck with it" and say, "what happens, happens," then play to the level they have played all along and are known for. I do not like to see Talent waisted because of being scared for selfish reasons.

To me the Coaches need to step in and say, "either Play ball or pack it in now and let us play someone who really wants to play." That is the Coaches job to make sure that they do not allow that to happen. LSU should not have lost to Bama and the Game with Clemson maybe would never have happened. I feel the loss at Florida was lack of intensity.

Wing is only one I could see not being drafted and only because he is a punter. Only 2 were drafted last year I believe... People will take a flier on Faulk because of his size and his rehab should have him ready for training camp and Ford probably goes in 5/6th

Nah I don't agree with that, I think this years defense was more flawed than previous years and these guys were asked to do more. Reid this year was out of position several times because he was shadowing a side of field a young corner was on leaving middle open, other players on defense a team could double team or cut block and take them out of making plays. They all gave 100% I don't believe the BS they were already thinking about the being drafted.

I am just going by the way I saw them playing. more times than not Sam caught a lot of those guys from behind and this year it looked like he was running in quicksand. I would hope they were playing at 100% and not even 90%, that is when they are more at risk than playing at 100%.

Yes I agree with Reid having to shadow the younger Players and helping out where he could. That is to be expected somewhat with all the young Players out there, but on the Line I do not see it, just me I guess.

I am not going by what anyone else says, this is what I believe and still believe, Sam, with the year he had last year was going this year no matter what happened. He was not going to put himself at any more risk than he could get away with. At the same time I do not believe Sam leaving will hurt LSU at all with the Talent LSU has and what is coming in, LSU will be as good if not better because of the depth and the Players who played last year.

When it happens at Kentucky in basketball, do people think the coach is at fault? Or might it be that they recruit talented players who are developed and move on to their job to get paid?

Good post but the mass exodus of over the expected 3-5 players at most is alarming no matter how you skin the cat (10 total plus 3-6 others transferring). Our roster looks depleted and thin. This is not normal and something is up, players have enough of LM's shitty game day antics.

I agree with you. Everyone knew Mingo, Montogomery, with the season Minter had, Logan was a bit of a surprise but not bad, Wing hates school, Ware, Ford being buried under Hill on the depth chart with Blue coming back. Selfishly I want them to stay but it makes sense.

The only real surprise is Faulk and when one thinks about it, it makes sense also.

So it pretty much comes down to this:

The players who are leaving via transfer aren't the issue, teams always have 2-4 guys leave that way and none were starters or made any real impact. As a board we talked prior to the season about having up to 8 players leave (it is 10 now) and everyone was ok with that. It showed a sign of talent, coaching, and that LSU could develop talent. Now it is a sign of inept coaching, players not willing to risk injury, etc.
and I've noticed a few of the "sky is falling" posters are the same ones that predicted many of these same players to leave prior to season

After losing almost all our entire defense, I wonder how u'll will feel next year when we maybe end the season 7&5? I am just not sure our offense will be good enough to win many games for us.

If our team was so loaded that 10 underclassmen left for the NFL and all we could muster up this season was a Peach Bowl loss, then we have other issues

What was trolling about the fact our team couldn't even be Peach Bowl winners yet has so many underclassmen that are NFL worthy?

I misread your statement, but if you really want a valid reply, you're not going to get one on this board. Ask the team why they couldn't get it done.
