I eliminated graduating seniors, junior draftees, transfers and walk-ons to get a ball park estimate at our current roster. I have bolded players who are rumored to be looking elsewhere. The roster may have a few glitches, but as best i can tell:

1 Rob Bolden QB SR
3 Odell Beckham Jr. WR JR
4 Alfred Blue RB SR
5 Jarrett Fobbs WR JR
6 Craig Loston S SR
8 Zach Mettenberger QB SR
9 Ego Ferguson DT JR
12 Corey Thompson S SO
13 Dwayne Thomas CB SO
14 Terrence Magee WR/RB JR
15 Jerrard Randall QB SO
17 Stephen Rivers QB SO
19 Derrick Raymond CB SO
22 Ronnie Feist LB SO
23 Lamar Louis LB SO
25 Kwon Alexander LB SO
26 Ronald Martin S JR
27 Kenny Hilliard RB JR
28 Jalen Mills CB SO
30 James Hairston PK JR
31 D.J. Welter LB JR
32 Jalen Collins CB SO
33 Jeremy Hill RB SO
34 Micah Eugene S SO
35 Lorenzo Phillips LB SO
36 Kavahra Holmes CB RSFR
38 Jamie Keehn P SO
39 Jerqwinick Sandolph S SO
41 Travis Dickson TE JR
43 Connor Neighbors FB JR
44 J.C. Copeland FB SR
45 Deion Jones LB SO
48 Seth Fruge LB SR
50 Reid Ferguson SNP SO
51 Trey Granier LB RSFR
52 Luke Muncie LB SR
54 Justin Maclin DE JR
55 Elliott Porter OL JR
56 Trai Turner OL SO
57 Lamin Barrow LB SR.
58 Tahj Jones LB SR
59 Jermauria Rasco DE JR.
65 Jerald Hawkins OL RSFR
66 Derek Edinburgh Jr. OL RSFR
70 La'el Collins OG JR
71 Jonah Austin OT SO
74 Josh Williford OG SR
75 Evan Washington OL JR
78 Vadal Alexander OT SO
80 Jarvis Landry WR JR
81 Armand Williams WR JR
82 James Wright WR SR
83 Travin Dural WR RSFR
84 Nic Jacobs TE JR
85 Dillon Gordon TE RSFR
86 Kadron Boone WR SR
90 Anthony Johnson DT JR
94 Danielle Hunter DL SO
95 Quentin Thomas DT RSFR
96 Mickey Johnson DT RSFR
98 Jordan Allen DE JR

60 returnees (could drop to 56)
plus 26 current commits
plus 2 (AJ and FF from last years class)
=88 scholarship players as is, 83 if the names in bold bail......attrition isn't a bad thing especially with some of the other names we are still after for 2013.

Why would Randall stay?

His recruiting class of Dual Threat QBs:

Dual-threat quarterbacks
Braxton Miller 1 Ohio State
Brett Hundley 2 UCLA
Jacoby Brissett 3 Florida
J.W. Walsh 4 Oklahoma State
Kiehl Frazier 5 Auburn
Teddy Bridgewater 6 Louisville
Jamal Turner 7 Nebraska
Michael Eubank 8 Arizona State
Marquise Williams 9 North Carolina
Jerrard Randall 10 LSU
DaMarcus Smith 11 UCF
Marcus Mariota 12 Oregon
Michael Brewer 13 Texas Tech
Johnny Manziel 14 Texas A&M

Young man was ranked out of HS above JFF and Mariota, similar to Bridgewater, and in same breath as Braxton Miller. He has not even seen a blade of grass of the field on game day at a time when we are struggling at QB... Yeah, there are some busts on this list but how do we know what we have since we have not even tried him.

Nic Jacobs transfer to McNeese, Paul turner to La Tech. Per Dandy Don. Lots of great recruits coming in they would be third down the line. Guess they want to play

Armand Williams is not leaving LSU. He loves LSU and he is determined to complete his degree in Business. He is on track for early graduation. He continues to work hard at school and football every day.

The people using recruiting rankings to compare Randall to Manziel are killing me. Yeah a lot of people were ranked higher, they screw up sometimes.

If you would've suggested playing Randall a couple months ago people would've lost their minds and now that he's leaving he's gonna be Johnny Manziel, that's LSU fans for you.

What was a sour mood after the Chicken Bowl has turned into resignation that we are going to have a tough, tough year next season.

The bandwagon will have plenty of room.

I feel bad for Randall. After all, he chose LSU from day one.. and always had a great attitude.

No, he chose Oregon first. Only after they dropped his offer did he come here, and late in the process..

Then why offer him (Bolden) a scholarship? I don't think he counted against LSU's scholarship total, but still...

Just one more guy you have to spend time teaching things too when you could concentrate on the guys that are going to play...

If Mett gets hurt, I think there's a chance you would find that not to be true.

All were Seniors. So yeah, all these early departures are not normal IMO.

So lets pick out some of the best players over the last decade who stayed an freak out that the guys we have are leaving.

If every one of those guys leave, it won't affect LSU one bit next year.

You're right. When you're running a bland offense like LSU is running right now, talent gets wasted anyway so what's the difference?
