Hilliard will have something to say about Blue and Hill splitting 30 carries a game.

In 2011 there was a primary back in almost every game. But it changes from ware to Hilliard mid season.

They don't get it. The only thing that changed was the primary. Miles liked Ware for his hard nosed running and that he's a complete back. When he got in trouble, Miles switched to Hilliard and he showed speed(for a big man), power(like a runaway bull), and vision(he'd hit a hole and kinda glide threw tackles).

I hated that Miles didn't give Hilliard the chance to shake back but winning comes first.

But another part to that is that we didn't have this much talent at RB when Hester, Scott, and Ridley were 1000yd rushers. They didn't give way to the guys behind them by letting up, getting injured or messing up off the field either.

Ridley? Scott? I mean, really! It wasn't that long ago to excuse these kinds of idiotic comments.

the only way he gets 20 is if he is around the 4 ypc mark and he has to stop making big td runs.

You mean like in the Clemson game where that in fact happened yet he did stop getting carries? I don't think you can put any faith into anything with the chaotic mess that our offense has become.

Well, addai, hester, scott, ridley. Addai didnt break 1k because he was often injured. Broussard if he didnt get injured. Also looked like blue was going to get majority of carries until he got injured.

Where do you people come up with these baseless comments?

clemson game is a nice example, uk game with chuck scott running wild for a half then les stops doing it, kw career.

big plays are a no no in the les miles offense. you commit one and its worse than a turnover

Do you EVER go back and watch the tape of a game after it is over, to see if the perspective you have matches with what actually happened in the game?

Lets start with a question. How many offensive plays did LSU run in the 4th quarter.

Then if you answer that, how many of those plays was Hill on the field for?

Why would you risk wearing him down with the stable of backs LSU has?

Amazing how other teams use featured backs.

Which one of these consistently got 20+ carries a game?

If I remember correctly, Hester had around 225 carries during his senior year, Scott had over 200 carries in his junior season, and Ridley had right around 250 carries in his junior season. Addai had close to 200 carries during his senior season but he was never built for a high volume of carries. He had more carries during his senior season at LSU than he did during his senior season in HS. 300 carries is considered a high volume of carries over the course of an NFL 16-game regular season and that averages out to be just over 18 carries/game.

Blue/Hill about 15 carries each
Hilliard about 5
Thrown in others

I think Les is making a mistake by not having a featured Rb like most teams. Hill is a beast but will never get the glory until he leaves early for the pro's!

LSU averages over 40 carries per game. Even if Magee ends up being the 4th RB on the depth charts, there are still plenty of carries to go around.

My guess on the breakdown of carries for 4 RB's would be 15/10/10/5 plus the occasional carries by Copeland and Mett scrambling/getting sacked.

I'll take a healthy and fresh lead back over a glorious one that has been beaten down over the course of the season. Addai was a first round draft pick with just over a 900 rushing yard season.

Hill's stats as a starter:

USC 17 carries
A&M 18 carries
Bama 29 carries
MSU 15 carries
Ole Miss 20 carries
Arkansas 18 carries
Clemson 12 carries

That's 17 carries/game as a starter. The only game he should've gotten more was Clemson. But, the coaching staff treated the game like an exhibition they didn't care about winning.
