Never eaten there and no offense, but that looks awful.
Could be just me as I am rather picky and not too big of a sliced roast beef fan.

You're entitled to your opinion. You can't really make a cheese steak look good.

Yeah that doesn't look to good, but taste is all that matters.

Is that Cheese Whiz?
Authentic Philly Cheesesteak uses Cheese Whiz

I've never been to SOF but I'll try it soon and report back. The thing about PMU is that the sandwiches are so damn hot that you can only look at it for a good 5+ minutes before you take a bite.

Looks like the cheesesteak at Rick's Grill in Place St. Charles

South of philly is FAR superior imo.
Posted on 1/11/13 at 1:57 pm to rutiger
I'll have to try it next week.

is PMU the place on Jefferson? If so, its pretty good but SOP is better IMHO.
The only way to have a cheese steak is with Whiz........I usually get the classic with Whiz at SOP.

You can get cheese whiz if you tell them to put it on. Also, I agree that you can't eat it for at least five minutes after getting one. Those things are worse than hot pockets.

I burned the frick out of my lip
Am I missing out by not getting the whiz?

And yes, it's amazing.

I'd have to agree with whiz being the way to go on a Philly

I think it looks delicious. I'll have to go get one. I have eaten at South of Philly a few times but haven't eaten there yet.

It's the Cajun which has Tony's, pepper jack, spicy mayo and some other goodies. The surf and turf is damn good as well.

actually geno's standard cheese is provolone.

I was a Pat's guy anyways. I don't think I've ever actually had Geno's
