1st round pick is nice. Can get a high quality hitter there

Clams now has the first and third pick in the draft.

Pitchers are way more unpredictable. If a first round pick was really a first round pick, it would be a whole different story.

Barring suspension, there's no way VKC wouldn't be ecstatic over the move. Good move and kudos to you.

Clams sold off Braun in TDBL too. He's obviously concerned about the suspension possibilites.

That being said, I don't think anything comes of it.

In the context of the deal, Clams has a shite ton of great hitters. Now he has Kershaw and Strasburg. And 2 of the first 3 picks. So basically he will be adding 2 more "keepers" to an already strong 8

I am very happy, but Stras is an absolute monster.

Clams now also owns an unbeatable duo with his starters because he also owns Kershaw. Seven of his keepers are now in their mid 20's. That is pretty ill.

I don't disagree whatsoever about Stras's potential or abilitly. If he's on point, there's no reason why he should be able to put to Lincecum numbers when he was in his prime... which is beastly. At the same time, it's not close(barring suspension).

That said, I'm not saying it's a bad deal at all for both parties... but let's not kid ourselves here.

Gyno nailed it. I had a strong set of bats and wanted to pick up an elite arm. The picks in the first round will no doubt help, not to mention a one two combination of Kershaw and Stras.

Lester are you going to rate the keepers?

I know LE will give a more in depth look at keepers, but here are my top 6 playoff teams based on keepers.

1. Clams

I think he has the clear cut, best set of keepers.

2. Earl

Has some big time, stud hitting. If Goldschmidt comes around, that lineup will be kStout. Questions lie in the pitching, but they have huge potential as well.

3. Chat

Nice balance, no real holes. Medlen as a #2 worries me but overall a solid squad.

4. Toula

If Agon, HanRam, and Jupton produce like they did for their peak seasons, then this team will rape. 2 of the best SPs. Chapman has an undefined role and Scherzer could be a stud, who knows?

5. Chowds

Granderson's injury is being overhyped. He has balanced, proven players. 2 stud SPs.

6. Wildcard

Drop off after the first 5. Everyone else is working with about the same amount of talent.
