I am an ammo retailer and my main two suppliers are American Rod & Gun (BassPro) and Henry's/Big Rock Sports, two huge national distributors. This morning I logged in to see if they had recieved any shipments so that I could place an order with either of them. Here's what I found:

22LR 0
270 0
308Win 0
223/556 0
762x39 0
40S&W 0
357 0
38SPC 0
9MM 0
380 0
45ACP 0

Something more than just massive demand is going on, I fear. Most of those lines can pump out between 7-12 million rounds per shift, per caliber, per year, per machine. I know the demand is overwhelming but ARG is telling me end of the month and they have no idea how much or what they're going to get.

Academy received zero 5.56 rounds today in Houston.

They did have 200 rounds of varmint loads. 50gr? and tracer ammo, but nothing anyone wants. No 55gr or 62gr bullets.

Interesting- but I think that's an indication of just how nuts it is right now. I made the Academy pilgrimage this am, bought 2000 rounds of stuff I really already had some stock of, and watched 10 other guys do the same. Multiply that across the country, and your supply chain gets weak really quick.

BTW- Houma Academy this am had 2 cases of 5.56, some 7.63x39, beau coup .45, and a few 900 round tins of 9mm.

The funniest part was when everyone nearly peed their pants when a case of Troy Landry CCI .22 was unearthed.

I have been trying to get some .22 ammo for the past few weeks. I was able to get one box of 50 the other day

That's what I was saying yesterday.

I'd have a boat full of these loaded down leaving Russia 3 weeks ago.

Even though it prolly makes me a commie, that's why I shoot commie rounds. I trust their capitalistic instinct to keep pumping out rounds more than our governments....

word was no new products(pmags, bullets) until after the big outdoor supply trade show this week or next. Supposedly this is where you guys as dealers will learn whats available and how much it costs now. It is just to drive up demand.

Seriously raise the price of a pmag as a distributor and rake in the dough. Make 1million people backorder it and then release it to the market in one big flood just increase the value on the new released retail goods.

So let me get this straight, you're an ammo dealer and you're just now telling us?

I'm pretty sure you'll be able to recover plenty of it from boating accidents. Anyhoo, there's so much of it already on our shores that it's too late for that. You know how long it would take me to shoot 1700 rounds of 7.62x54r (had I not lost it last week in a surfing accident)?

Well, I'm a hardware store owner who sells ammo. I only really started posting here in November.
