Or in Hammond if there's any here I'm unaware of. Me and the girlfriend (no pics) want to go try out a few guns (rent) before I make my first purchase. Mostly looking to try out the Glocks 19, 23, 26, and 27 for HD and potentially CC.

TIA

FITS in Slidell has a variety of different glocks to rent. That is where I went to try them out before purchase.

Precision in BR has a Ruger SR9 for rent.

Every single girl who has ever fired my Ruger SR9c has loved it. It's slimmer than a 2x4 (Glock) and will most likely fit a female hand better.

After shooting my Ruger, 4 of my friends have wanted one of their own. It really is a great piece. I CC my SR9c daily.

But hey, if a Glock is your thing, go for it.

Probably not until all the bills slide through the House and Congress. I would guess February at a minimum.

Well it'll be my gun, but I just want to get something she'd feel comfortable using. I may give that a shot too.

And how'd I know this would turn into a glock vs anything but glock discussion? Haha

KR, let the little boys play with their Glocks. They're idiot guns anyway. Any third world Somali pirate can master a Glock.
Not like the ammount of true warrior skill it takes to master a 1911.

And FWIW, I own two glocks.

I love my Glock, and that's compared to some pretty good pistols.

For every cool thing, there's got to be some "anti" thing.

I'm not anti-glock at all. I love my Glocks.

I just love my 1911's more.

I can hate on Glock all I want and it's still a fantastic pistol.

The thing I dislike with guys getting girls into shooting is that they assume a girl will enjoy something with a fat grip. If she does and she's used to grabbing thick things ( ) then she'll enjoy it. But chances are, she will enjoy something with a slimmer grip.

Haha, well, it's not really about me trying to get her into shooting. It's about me wanting to get a HD gun that she also can use if needed. Obviously I plan on keeping this girl around for a little while.

I currently don't own any guns, and since I started researching a few weeks back, I already have my sights set on most likely a glock 19, 23, 26, or 27 (leaning towards 19) and either Mossberg 500 or Remington 870. Later get another handgun for the little lady if she's still around. haha Gotta start somewhere!

Before I met my wife's family, I used to go to Covey Rise in Husser to scope in my rifle. I have a range at my lease I have used since I've met my wife's uncle. Not sure if they rent guns, or not, but it's worth a call. Can also shoot some skeet (wether you are thinking of clay targets, or not, it's up to you.)

I'll check into that.

Does anyone know if the shooting range at Bass Pro rents guns?
