Depends what the job is. If the candidate's experience is the best and the are a good fit for the position, then why not?

I'll say this, there is not much of a difference in a Marketing degree and a Communications degree.

The job is pretty important. Journalist? Yes. Petroleum Engineer? No. Economist? No. Teacher? Yes. Coffee shop worker? Yes. Nurse? No. Financial Analyst? No. HR rep? Possible.

Details are important.

Sure, if they are intelligent and can succeed at the job why not? I'd rather someone with a 3.8 in English over some dip shite with a 2.7 in Business.

Well aware that many schools offer a Bachelors/Masters of Arts in Economics. I have a degree in it, although mine was a BS. I assumed when he asked about "liberal arts," he meant the classics like language, arts, history, philosophy.
