Not sure when this movie (LINK will be released, but I can't wait to see it. Steve McQueen's (the director, not the actor) first two movies (Hunger, Shame) were excellent IMO, so I have very high hopes for this one as well. It has an incredible cast (Chiwetel Ejiofor, Brad Pitt, Paul Giamatti, Michael Fassbender, Paul Dano, Benedict Cumberbatch), a rising-star director IMO, and was filmed in Louisiana. Be on the lookout for this one in 2013! Definitely on my must-see list.

First Look: "Twelve Years a Slave": LINK

Added to the all-star cast are Dwight Henry and Quvenzhane Wallis from Beasts of the Southern Wild.

Should be good. I really don't read much, but this is one book I have read more than once.

There's a scene in that book that I laughed out loud about, when I shouldn't have.

I felt like a terrible person.

But maybe they'll make it humorous in the movie and I won't have to feel bad any more.

I doubt McQueen brings any humor to it. Drama all the way

Can't wait. Shame & hunger are two of my favorites.

Probably. They usually are in white movies about slavery.

I hate these slave movies.

I had to "read" this for a class once. Think I just skimmed it.
