I did, but it was before I started really liking IPAs and it was a bit old for one

I remember this. Freshness is not nearly as important in most other styles as it is in IPAs.

Try their Three Philosophers also.

this is one of the few beers I've had where I experienced a noticeable difference in can/bottle vs tap

I've enjoyed the beer from taps to party ball things and there is just something I love about the cans. IMO it's the biggest thing to happen to "carnival" since Al Johnson.

Is that still your winter warmer or a new batch? How is the belgian IPA coming along?

Same one. There's not much left in the keg. Hope to finish it out this week, then keg the Belgian pale ale. Anxious to try that one out.

don't get me wrong, it's awesome to have it in the can to take along to tailgate, mardi gras, etc but it tastes a lot better on tap.

My FBD yesterday was Mikkeller Hop Breakfast. I do miss not having Beer Geek Brunch available here anymore, but hop breakfast is just as good, and much cheaper.

Also, i came back with a few beers from Houston, only one of which i haven't tried before. Came back with a 4 pack of 90 minute ipa, 6 pack of 60 minute ipa, 6 pack of Lagunitas lil sumpin sumpin, a 6 pack of Deschutes Jubelale (which is a strong ale), a bomber of Avery Hog Heaven barley wine, and a bomber of Yeti Imperial stout.

As the holidays have passed, my taste buds are gearing back up for the hops.

I had this over the holidays and wasn't terribly impressed. I didn't really see it as a strong ale, it was kind of weak in that department.

The Yeti is the class of that haul in my opinion.

Yeah i believe it clocks in at only 6%. I still have 5 more.

The yeti is great, but when i had the Avery Hog Heaven last year, it was pretty damn good. I only had a chance to go to the specs on woodlands parkway, and there selection is ok, but not fantastic. I also was trying to keep my beer quantity down. I am 100% full in the fridge and my fermentation fridge outside. I have a case of old home brews (back when i did extracts) that i want to dump because i know i won't drink them, i just hate to waste that beer.
