When Tulane goes undefeated you give them a pat on the back and some kudos and a decent bowl in December. You don't give them a spot in the championship game.

Hell, why not say Oregon vs A&M? If we're throwing out records, throw them all out right?

My point is that independents should be treated like teams from Conference USA. You went undefeated? Great, good for you. But you don't get to get steamrolled in the NC game and get your 15 minutes of fame.

Hindsight man. You couldn't really keep an undefeated team out who had some quality wins along the way, especially since nobody else went unscathed. It's not like they played a Tulane level schedule. And yes Oregon is probably the 2nd best team if we're looking at it through the "eyeball test"

Lsu wasn't exactly an independent last year, how did their postseason go? How about Ohio state's multiple shots at the title? Oklahoma?

Sometimes you just don't get a great game dude.

I said before the game it would be a blow out

Not many avid football fans are surprised by this outcome

Their best win got waxed by the 3rd team in the SEC West in their bowl game

A soft schedule with a couple of barely top 25 teams isn't worthy of a NC appearance. 1998 Tulane goes undefeated with that schedule.

Translation: Oregon would have also wiped the floor with ND by at least 20 points

They played poorly but they at least looked like they belonged on the same field

Defense held up pretty well

Dude they didn't cross the 50 until garbage time and then just barely. An asskicking is an asskicking.

Right

The offense was terrible and most of that was terrible coaching

They had the athletes to match up though

ND didn't

PLEASE get out of here with the same old Oregon shite.

I DON'T GIVE A frick how many points they score against Arizona and Washington. THEY LOST. TO A TEAM THAT NOTRE DAME BEAT.

God, you people need to get a fricking clue. Just because Oregon scored 154 points against Colorado, it doesn't mean they should get a free pass to the NC game.

So the bcs system was supposed to take into account what happens in the future bowl games when determining who goes? shite a little more than a week ago people were bitching that Oklahoma should be in the orange bowl over Niu. Also who exactly had Oregon beaten prior to the bowl games this year?

Just like the idiots saying Oklahoma State should've gone over LSU last year. ESPN actually tried to pose that question after the BCS Championship.

Yaeah but ND absolutely spanked a USC trojan team on the road. I mean it was like a one score game against USC's backup QB and the team is coached by Kiffiin and they lost to 7 loss Ga Tech, but I mean, hey, that is quite an impressive win. Not to mention their domination of Pitt and BYU
