Natchez
48 deg
Spike just waked out

Had 4 wild dogs chasing a yearling yesterday afternoon. Dad gave one of them a dirt nap. Hope those others didn't hang in the area last night.

Supposed to have a gully washer moving in tonight. Don't know if I'll hunt tomorrow

Yea and worse, another big rain coming at the end of the weekend. My truck is already bottoming out on my way thanks to jacked up trucks on 35's gassing it every time they hit a soft spot.

I aint seen crap and according to my trail cam the party was at 4am this morning

Well...that was uneventful.

Forgot to mention, it was my first deer hunt of the year for work related reasons.

It's great to get back in the woods! It's going to be a short season, but better than nothing.

Now, a little work on the boat, a little lunch, and then back into the stand before the rain hits.

I sat in the stand from 10-2 today and didnt see a thing. Was planning on hunting this afternoon but weather is bad. No one at the camp has been seeing anything the past couple days.

We are in St. Helena parish.

Same here, was planning to sit in the stand this afternoon.

Not gonna happen with this weather.

It was odd, saw some deer (and big deer), but it was too early to shoot. Once shooting time arrived, the deer seemed to just know and they walked right back into the woods.

Guess I'll head back out in the morn.
