Does Louisiana have a website for finding land owners? Or do I have to go to each parish's courthouse?

Varies by Parish. Some have GIS systems online that you can look up property ownership based on tax assessor information. Those who do, some are free and some are subscription based.

Many parishes don't have info online. If not you go to the assessors office. Most of them are very helpful. It helps to have a legal description, otherwise you will have to locate on maps or photos. If you can get a legal they can give you a name and address.

Where ya located. For instance, Caddo has a website($), but Desoto you have to go to the court house.

What parish? Do you have a legal? If so easiest thing to do is call the assessor and be really nice to the people who answer the phone

Check out Winter Quarters, if you've got the cheese.

Just say that I'm in the discovery phase. Been paying a lot for duck leases every year and thought why don't I just buy some land? Kind of like renting and buying a house I guess. Except I know I'll be stuck at the same duck hole for years to come, but it will be mine, all mine!
