Well, it's not too late to just get on the Bama bandwagon. Go pull for your boys. It's pretty easy to find some shite with the scarlet A on it. Every Wal-Mart in the world is required to carry it, right?

Dinardo set the stage. The bring back the magic campaign really got into the minds of LA high school kids that LSU was a real option for top talent. He just couldnt keep the on-field product up to par. Saban just put it all together as a top recruiter and great product on the field. Miles has continued with getting enough atletes from this fertile state.

Not sure why this is still a topic of conversation here. Everyone with a functioning set of synapses agrees that Saban is a better coach than Miles at this point. Even the most ardent Miles supporters on the board concede this, they merely argue about the magnitude of the delta.

Saban turned the program around, thats the reason his record isn't as good at LSU!

There is actually some truth to this. If Saban came to LSU now we would probably run a train on the entire country for years.

ETA: But frick Saban.

Miles turned around OSU... in the 14 years before his tenure there they only made it to one bowl game..

Saban>Miles but to say Miles isn't a good coach is just ignorant

If Alabama wins tonight they will be 35-5 the last 3 years, LSU is 34-6, yep, massive gulf there.

As to to the OP, per all the recruiting sites, Alabama's classes have ranked ahead of ours every year since 2008. But hey, LSU only wins because we get talent, Bama wins because of better coaching.

Uh no. Saban was great for LSU, but he has been a better coach at Bama than he was at LSU. Saban had 1 year at LSU when he only lost 1 game. He lost 3+ every other year including his last after he won a NC and he wasn't rebuilding. Reality is, LSU plays at a disadvatage to our Crimson rivals because of scheduling. Miles has taken what Saban started and made it better. When Saban left we weren't a consistent top 10 team. We are now. Miles does deserve to get credit for what he has been able to do at LSU. It's dumb to think Saban wasn't part of our recent success and it's even dumber to think Miles hasn't been a even bigger reason.
