i have a Remington 270 that is left handed...it has the spring clip where it is just a door at the bottom with a spring clip...first i want to buy a new synthetic stock for it and i wanted to know if there is anyway to change the clip from the spring loaded clip to a detachable clip

You have to talk to whoever you're buying the stock from to iron out the details, but yeah it can be done.

Well just so you have your terminologies right, they are referred to as a "fixed magazine" and a "detachable magazine."

I think there are some kits out there, but the stocks that support a detachable magazine will probably be expensive.

If you're only planning on deer hunting with this rifle, I don't think adding a stock to accept magazines is necessary.

Give me my fixed mag everyday of the week. Its just something else I can't loose.

Agreed.

And for deer hunting, having 20 rounds in the mag ready to roll isn't really necessary. I think 4 is the perfect number.

Then again, just because I don't think it's necessary doesn't mean I will pass a law restricting people from using a magazine over 4 rounds.

There's a reason why most .308 ammo is packaged in boxes of 20 rounds.

i jus want the option of a detachable clip because i would like to put bigger clips in it but yes when deer hunting i think 2 is actually more than enough because frankly on our property you will be lucky to even get two shots
