Going to the T-Wolves game Friday. First time to see Hornets. Any advice other than wear Pelican tshirt? Don't have seat numbers in front of me

We should make this a sticky worthy thread. Where do the regulars

Park
Eat Before/After
When to arrive
When to leave BR
Places/things to avoid

Park - under super dome for $10. I know some will say free street parking but whatever.
Eat Before/After - Walk-ons, I guess. Its close by. The Arena food is pretty good and fairly priced.
When to arrive - In all my games I might have gotten there early 3 times. by 7 I guess.
When to leave BR - 5:30 should be good. Traffic is bad on the bridge sometimes and when you get into the city.
Places/things to avoid - the ghetto

We could just add it to the already stickied FAQ thread too.

I normally get to the arena around 6 to park on the street near Rouses for free. Ima probably go eat at Walk Ons. There will be (weather permitting) a free concert in champions square before the game. Lots of beer and such. You can also pay a bit to park anywhere near the arena. And there are plenty of free spots to be found, especially near the Home Depot under the Claiborne overpass.

Park

I always park either on the street or in a pay lot by Rouses.

I usually stop and eat some rot gut fast food on the drive down or get some of the overpriced rot gut in the arena

When to arrive

I like to be in the Arena by 6:45 for a "7:00" game, but I'm usually walking in at tip off.

It's in your best interest to hit Bayou Manchac by 5:00 because of moderate to heavy traffic most of the way.

Beezanies
Elysian Fields
Overpriced rice beer

As a final addition, I do better when I head to Tchoupitoulas and get on the interstate right there.

Walk-ons is close. Gordon Biersch is not. If you're going to hike it all that way, there's better food to be had. Cochon Butcher all the way.

Don't pay to park, there are plenty of free parking spots around the Arena. Me and my buddy park next to equipco under the overpass. Depending on what we have to do the next day, we either eat in the Arena or go to Hooters after. If we eat in the Arena we get there 20 or so minutes before tip.

If you aren't lazy you can park in the warehouse district, eat at one of the many great restaurants, and walk to the arena.

If you are your typical fat, southern suburbanite, there is a $5 pay lot directly across from Walk Ons on Poydras. Get your fried food fix on at walk ons or grab a pizza at reginellis or Italian pie.

Just realized that I should clarify that I use this route after the game.

If possible club level, shrimp pasta is goodness. Other good Arena food would be the pulled pork nachos.

15$ parking across street from VIP entrance... get you on GNO quick. Since late November while the team struggled you were able to do this. Since Super Bowl prep work though NO ONE can park there.

Park - CBD on the street next to a pay lot or Rouse's for free.

Eat Before/After - Stein's, Voodoo BBQ

When to arrive - I park by 6:30, seat by 6:50.

When to leave BR - Now.

Places/things to avoid - Just have a passenger look for `red' on some map app, or keep it tuned to the biiiig 870 for traffic. Ignore the dome exit, as it'll be blocked off soon (maybe already is) for the Super Bowl.
