Like I said, Cam being hired by the Jets is the hurdle that Les faces in getting Cam.

We need to stop this from happening.

at this point i feel like Cam is the only hope at keeping LSU as a legit NC contender. he's not some genius or anything but he would be a huge upgrade (he was legitimately great as the OC in San Diego) and, much more importantly, might be the one and only person Miles would give control to.

we need a dramatic break to turn things around, we need it now, and this might be the only way its ever gonna happen.

this is the first time in 10 years where I have no faith in lsu because bama has taken it from us.

i feel pretty much the same way. 12 months ago I was still the most optimistic Tiger fan on earth. bama took that, but we also let them take it. we can take it back, we're LSU for fricks sake, but we have to have the will to do it. we cant just sit here and do the same things as the program gets incrementally worse, we cant just cross our fingers and plow into the iceberg.

I hate to play both sides against the middle, but what I "think" or at least what I "thought" Friday evening was that Cam is going to be our OC. Idk what's gonna happen in the next week or so, but I know that Les wants him and they are close. If they can't reach an agreement, that would be ashame. But just reiterating what I "think"

In my head I told myself something like this, "If he turns down the Jets OC job, then expect him to be hired at LSU shortly after (5 to 15 days). Les was in his wedding and he was in Cam's. They are VERY close and so close in fact that Les would actually give him nearly full control of the offense as opposed to Stud (prolly control 20% of the offense)."

If this were to happen, what changes do you "think" would happen with the offense if cam is at nearly full control?

I think you would get something similar to what florida and stanford do. Run base with more misdirection (end around, counters, cross bucks). More TE looks. And more weak side screens as check downs and not just the only option.

could we please un-anchor this thread. the possibility of a strong new OC, however unlikely, is literally the only hope I have right now for LSUs immediate future.

Les is gonna get someone he trust and not just a circus type of offense. Les LOVES winning T.O.P. and the turnover margin (as all coaches do obviously). I can tell you this for a fact, Cam is a great offensive mind, and he will get Defenders out of the box. Guys like JC Copeland will proly see a 25% drop in time. Cam prefers more of an Ace look as opposed to a I or offset I. But having said that, he may come in and say "this Copeland guy is an animal and I will tweak my system to suit the skill set of the players." JC is a valuable part of the run game. He singlehandedly changes the way backers and DB's defend our run once our backs get to the 2nd level.

I really hope what I "think" is right. My track record has been flawless when "opinions" Ive shared in the past. I could have easily kept my "thoughts" under my hat, but it wouldn't be fair to fellow fans. If im wrong and Cam goes to the Jets or if he plain doesnt come, im sure there will be some backlash and flame. Im simply saying the the "thought" part of my "brain" that I got this from has been iron clad in the past.

Thats a great sentence

Im holding out hope what your "thoughts" are really come to fruition. It could lead to some excitement for the entire offseason.

Jets will make a play at Cam. If he doesnt go to the Jets, Cam has to decide if he (a) wants to work with Les, (b) if he wants to recruit, (c) if the money is right

I'm not flaming here, I haven't even been on TD for a whole year I'm just curious what other stuff you were right on? Again no flame actually curious.

And I remember you saying something awhile back about Russell sheppard? Since he's graduated, could you say what that was?

Would he help with the QB's? Do you think he doesn't trust stud? Or more that he completely trust cam with what he's done as a coach AND their off the field friendship?

I can't. I can't risk being banned. I would have posted about BW38 like 3 weeks before it went down, but I would have def been banned. I know it sounds easy to say now. The RS10 could have a mini meltdown effect, so no I cant...sry
