After a failed experience of ordering a king cake from a so called Louisiana bakery in DC, this year I'd like to order from one of the OG king cake shops and have it shipped up to me. Just looking for some advice on best places to order, good experiences, bad experiences, etc. Thanks!

Nonna Randozzo's will take care of you!

Bought one yesterday at their shop, but have ordered many online to be shipped to friends.

I never had any problems with Meche's when getting king cakes delivered. Give them a try

Friend of mine in Georgia ordered a Gambino's one and said they package them terribly and it was inedible. They replaced it with an order from
Randazzo's (should have done that from the get go) and were very satisfied.

ETA: It was Gambino's, not Haydel's.

Don't order from Ambrosia. They send you a plain cake and frosting in a package. You have to do it yourself.

I sent my fiancé one from Randazzo's when was working in some Podunk small town up north. He said it arrived I perfect condition and tasted very good.

I've ordered from Manny Randazzo's the past two years and have had no problems. Top notch packaging, shipping times, fresh cake, etc.

Haydels.
In addition to a good cake with lots of selections, they pack in other mardi gras goodies for the shipment.

Meche's is a donut, not a king cake.

I have always ordererd from Gambino's for a number of years and have never been dissapointed with the cake itself...unfortunately, about 1/3 of the time the package was obvously mistreated in shipping and the cake is somewhat fricked up...just part of shipping perishables IMO...

the cakes are always great, though and I will continue to get them for a long time...

Wife usually sends from Randazzos in Slidell, I believe that one is Camelia? She sends them to people she did her fellowship with and they always seem to rave about them when they get together.
