Bo played baseball with an artificial hip, I truly believe he used something.

What exactly is a PED? Is Creatine one? Is Tylenol one? I mean they help you enhance your performance and are drugs. I think people are way to sensitive about this subject. Players have used something since sport began, but the media wants us to believe it just started in late 70's.

I'm talking more along the lines of HGH or something else that would significantly lessen rehab time and make his knee better than before. These drugs exist and I doubt testing is even available.

a hip is a lot more complicated than a knee due to blood supply concerns

Sure he did but he had a Rx for them. As long as he is given it by league approved doc for a legit reason/injury/situation, they have no issue.

May have, but I think we can all agree that a MLB baseball player and an NFL running back cannot play with the same injuries.

Definitely, what I meant is that if Bo had suffered AD's injury in the late 80's his football career would have most likely ended the same way it did with the hip injury

And I don't think this is a widespread rumor or anything. About a week ago, a buddy of mine mentioned his thoughts on AD maybe using PED's to come back and it was the first time it had even crossed my mind. Just wanted a broader opinion so I brought it here.

Is there a chance? Yes. NFL still does not have a test for HGH.

Bo's career ending injury ended his career. AD was back in less than 9 months. I guess the question is, has medical technology(surgery and rehab) come that far in 20 years, or is he using PED's?

COMPLETELY different injuries

To you what's more enhancing?

The guy using dianabol in off season or the guy getting cortisone Friday/Saturday to play Sunday?

A fair question, but I'd say the d-bol. If you ability is at a certain baseline, the d-bol can increase that baseline. The cortisone will just get you closer to your original baseline after injury.

See I think it's the legal injection as it allows you to perform, when you probably shouldn't.
I don't care though, I want to see guy x play and my team win.

I'm talking about a player who hasn't used PED's, using them to come back from a devastating injury. I guess dianabol in the offseason, to recover after torn ligaments. I don't think anybody takes cortisone shots to play through torn ACL's anymore.

Bo had a hip replacement, AD tore his ACL. Completely different. Stop trying to accuse someone of something with zero evidence

sure there is totally a chance.

I'm pretty damn certain Dwayne Wade got on them to battle his injuries with how his face has expanded over the years.

Its not like its difficult for these guys to fine people who can give them drugs you cant test for.

You don't take dianabol for ACL. You do take cortisone for the swelling and pain. Again I could care less, but you can't condemn one action while the other is just as flagrant in intent.

Bo Jackson's injury would still require an artificial hip. The reason I referenced Bo and Hershel in the context of AD is because of their sheer superior athletic make up. Hershel is still built like a greek god and he's like 50. I think AD's make up and mental toughness allowed him to rehab at a level that most people could not achieve. When Cushing comes back that quick, I'll say it's due to steroids.

Good Lord. I never accused him, I actually think he didn't use. This is a simple question. Your vote is no he didn't use, got it. Can we not use message boards to talk about hypothetical situations anymore? You act like I just got on ESPN and accused him of using PED's

Totally agree that AD is on a different level. I guess I'm just having a difficult time wrapping my head around the fact that he came back so quickly. It's totally possible, I just think it's incredible. He deserves all the credit in the world for his hard work, regardless.
