Hey guys been lurking for a while and finally decided to join up.

Had a question about Susuki four strokes. Anyone have any experiences with them that are good or bad? Looking into some boats and was thinking I wanted a yahama but found a pretty good deal on one with a susuki. Thanks.

I got a 25hp and it's been nothing but problems. Gonna sell it and get a Yamaha.

Thanks for the help. Doesn't seem to be a bad option I suppose.

The one I am looking at is an 09 so maybe those are little lighter than the 07.

A friend bought a 26ft cat with 140's out of Florida. They weren't flushed properly by the previous owner, and have been nothing but trouble. Both have been partially rebuilt due to corrosion. I would never buy a Suzuki for saltwater use. Yamaha is the way to go.

The motors are '05s with less than 350 hours.

Any motor not properly flushed is going to have major corrosion issues.

Got twin 140s on a cat fished hard offshore. No issues. Would buy again.

I can't help but think this is an isolated incident due to poor maintenance. We have the same setup, and run them hard. No problems. I know a bunch of people that run zukes in salt regularly, and all love them.

Had a Yamaha. It was a good motor for a while. Sat up for a couple months and got the ethanol flu. Was never right again. Have a tohatsu now and I really like it. More so then the Yamaha.

I've got a 40 horse on my skiff, sat in our field for 10 years, fixing some wiring, cleaned the carb a little bit. Only problem I've had is I broke the plastic part the holds the shaft to change gear in the lower unit. That break was not exactly fun, but at least it only cost me 10 bucks for a replacement
