ESPN LSU writer claims Les has adopted the Kentucky version of recruiting. Get best players and turn them pro ASAP b/c that is what they want.

If true, LM would be too dumb to thing of this on own.

There are two things great recruits want in this order.
1. Be able to play ASAP
2. Play for a team that has a chance to win it all.

I see all these players leaving as a hugh positive for recruiting.

I guess football version would be 3 and done, since that is as fast as possible. And it feeds on itself. If juniors bolt, then you sell top HS studs on getting playing time immediately.

If you dont replace these players your gonna lose!
The only thing you can do when you lose a great player is replace him with a great player. Thats how you maintain a winning program.

That's because basketball has 1 year turnover.

No, GREAT recruits want to get paid ASAP.

They would not come to college if they didn't have to.

this isn't basketball guys don't finish after two years, if you have many guys going pro after 2 or 3 years it proves that you hvae alot of talented players what is wrong with that.

lost to 4 power house basketball schools baylor duke notre dame and louisville

will probably win the conference again and make alittle bit of noise in the tourney.

if you think Kentucky's recruiting strategy is bad then you don't understand college basketball. 1 and done are players who are NBA ready out of high school meaning they will be one hell of a player in college. That is why Kentucky won the national championship with a good bit of freshman.

the way it works in college basketball

top teams get best recruiting classes players turn pro after one year

middle of the road will get middle of the road players turn them into good players after 3 or 4 years.

middle of the road teams may have a chance once every 4 years to win it all

top teams have a chance every year even though a majority of their payers are one and done.

I have been telling people this since about midseason when I saw all the freshmen playing. There is a slight difference though. If you bring in NFL caliber talent and you RS them then you get two yrs on the field with them. If you do not RS and play them some right away you have them available for three yrs. This does not apply to every player but certainly those that show league promise...

A lot of kids are now looking at the logjam in front of them at other programs and see opportunity to play soon here.
